This somehow reminds me of my inlaw's neighbor...she fancied herself as a home decorator who lavishly spent millions of her husband's earnings on decorations for their home (lawn statues, pool statues, exotic trees, pheasant cages with pheasants, in-ground lighting...you get the picture.)

The divorce settlement called for him to sell the house and split the money 50/50 with his wife...he sold the house for a dollar to his brother.
