Only after driving back down the motorway, at about 70 mph (112kph) did I realise that I had laid my 2700 guide rail on my 3m long roof rack... without fixing it to the roof rack..

As luck would have it... The thing did not fly...

I was just turning into my road, heard a little rattle and then remembered the rail - looked at my mate... oh sh** I said...

The photo attached is me moving a little insulation... It was fun trying to get it on i'll tell you !!

Two year old 2.5 TDI - 9 seats - all completely illegal I think.... This is the last model they are making prior to stopping it and doing something that fits will all the new safety laws in the EU !! I can confirm you can put 1 tonne of plasterboard on the roof rack !! I can also confirm, you could not open the doors to actually drive the thing away :-)

9 seats? In that? OMG! A friend of mine had one in Germany, we outfitted his landy with 900 liter diesel tanks and full expedition cabinetry. I also worked on quite a view Defenders while being employed at www.unicat.net . Although the defenders are not of very high quality (I'm sorry to say...) but at least you could really use them for travels in the desert and IF that thing breaks down, you would always find someone (anywere in the world) to fix it.
Check out Unicat you will like it:  (If you look close enough you will se a couple of festools in use)

It's nice to know the anti-slip strips on the bottom of the rail work that well.
