My kapex came today, wonderful packaging!

I actually ordered it from Amazon, it was their warehouse deals section that sells things that are open box but in new condition (lesson learned). I reordered a new saw from CPO on Saturday and it came Wednesday, box was in good shape and everything inside was secure like it should be.

My UPS driver is great he is very consciousness about safety of the package both from theft and being broken (I live in Chicago) Fed ex does not deliver a lot by me and they seem to just toss and run. I am sure there are good/ bad drivers for both delivery services and everyone has their own preference... as long as it gets to me on time not broken I am happy.

I like amazon because I usually get other tools/ parts with my orders and the tracking/ return safety is nice, its a big company mistakes happen and they correct them quickly. I always order from a seller that uses Amazon as a storefront, but this time the 100$ savings made me greedy.

Oh and the new saw... cuts like a dream, I don't even need the dust collection box I used with my old saw.

It was Amazon Warehouse then and not Amazon.

Everything Amazon Warehouse sells is USED and does not come with a warranty - except the 30 day return privilege.  I actually buy a lot of stuff through their warehouse, but their shipping and packaging is not up to the usual Amazon standards - but they still have great Amazon customer service

i agree, and i add the following rule dont buy amazon warehouse used if
1- the item weights more than 50 lbs
2- and/or the item has to be "boxed" (the previous cust might not return all the foam
protection and no one at amazon checks or cares, only if missing a component)
3- item is big in size, say 50 inches by 30 inches (even worse if big and heavy, your in for misery)
4- the item's use is precise, and the "blurb" says cosmetic defect, the workers at amazon warehouse
are not woodworkers, dont care about wood, a cosmetic defect could be dent on a alumimum track
which would not travel true after the blemish/cosmetic defect.
5- item blurb says packaging is damaged, yeah i know you passed this by in the blurb and assummed
amazon would retape the box, fix the box? nope, send it out to you as is.

by the way, if you call amazon and detail the complaint, they do offer a bigger discount than the purchase
price, or send you another copy from warehouse, something to consider in addition to just sending it back
and buying elsewhere.

i bought a used festool mfs 400, it had a "cosmetic defect" turns out someone used it with
a router and lifted the router but the router bit took a bite out of the guide rails. sent it back.

i bought a used mft/3 table used. big discount, all the side rails were dented multiple cosmetic
blemishes, but the top was pristine. never used.

i had much better experience buying festool recon, -10%, brand new tool with some dust.
but festool doesnt sell used mft or mfs, wonder where those used returns go?
