Just thought i would post some pictures of my new van.  Not had it a week yet so a lot to be done.  I have to line the inside with plywood & possible paint it white to brighten up the inside as the black is very dark.  I then have to rack it out for systainers ect.  I will post more picks as i get it done.

The van is a Renault Traffic Sport, long wheel base.  My last van was a short wheel base & when putting sheets in they had to go corner to corner diagonally to get the door shut.  The sport comes with colour coded trim, metallic paint, alloy wheels, front fog lights, trip computer, bluetooth, tom tom sat nav & probably other stuff i have forgotten about.

Thanks for looking, Woodguy.

All in including vat £16,400.  Will get the vat back though.  My last van was 2 month old when i got it & it served me well for 5 years so i did not hesitate in getting the same van again.

Nice van!!    Im also Jealous!!!    I like how Renault teamed up with Tom Tom so their vans and cars have Tom Tom built in!  Other companies should do the same my mum and dad have Audis (A5 s line) and Mercedes but especially Mercedes have rubbish sat navs never as good as Tom Tom okay they start up quicker and you dont have to wait like you do with Tom Tom to find your location if you havent had it switched on for a couple of days but they dont have the full 7 digit postcode like tom tom do.

I know you havent had it long but do the built in Tom Toms find its own location quicker?! I suppose you wont know untill you havent used your van for a week maybe then you will find out if it does or not I know with the portable tom toms if you leave it swithed off for a week it CAN take like 10 mins or more to find you! I stick my on top of my van for a bit so it finds its self quicker.

The online brochure shows the max. internal length as 2800mm, but that's without the bulkhead. With the bulkhead fitted, it's likely to be around 2500mm. Plenty long enough to get full sheets in!

Nice van. Painting the interior white will certainly help. But there's something weird going on with the steering wheel, it's on the wrong side?!?  ??? ???.

JMB, the tom tom works really good.  From putting the key in, the sat is up & running within 1 minute but like you say it may take longer when not been used for a while.  Also, the bluetooth works really good for the phone.  Had numerous ones that clip the the visor etc & none of them work any good.  This one is as clear as a bell.

JRB is spot on for the length.

Alex, i think the steering wheel will be just fine where it is  [tongue].

NICE VAN!  Maybe one day we will see many more similar offerings here in NA.

Are you going to insulate before putting your panels in?  That may cut down on noise and possible condensation.  Looks like a great work van, nice to get the back separated from the cabin.

personally i dont think it would affect noise as the bulkhead is already fitted and normally wouldn't board over that. i never found noise from the back of mine an issue, just the howl from the ladders on the roof when pushing 100mph

Bob, like Dean said, no real need to insulate.  My last van was lined with ply & no insulation & i cant say i ever really noticed it.  Dean, they do fly don't they.  This one is 115 bhp so even quicker than the last one which was 100 bhp.  Leave Transits at the lights  ;)

Oh, one thing i did do was the day after i got it, i put it to my local garage & they covered the underneath & engine bay with waxoyl.  The body has a 12 year anti corrosion warranty so no issues there.

what i will say it keep an eye on the hub caps as they tend to fall off, our spark has gone thru 2 sets in 4 weeks on his traffic sport, they swapped the wheel nuts for larger one in the end to solve the problem

I had a Renault for the last 5 years with no problems & superb service so it was a no brainer for me.  I have not heard much about the Iveco but am sure it is a fine van also.  The only one i really didn't want was the Ford Transit as the body lets go really quickly.
