My version of the MFT sysport cart

I finally had time over the holidays to design and build my version of an MFT/3 sysport cart.  Viewing previous FOG post on similar carts was very helpful and provided quite a bit of inspiration.

The cart is 35/ 3/8 tall (~900mm) and 30 1/2 D x 45 1/2 W which allows for edge clamping of tall or wide boards on all sides. I also bored the corner supports for 5/8" pegs to support such pieces.  It's put together with pocket screws and is extremely sturdy sitting on red 3" locking casters from HD. 

In total, I used 1 and 1/2 sheets of 3/4" birch plywood, a couple board feet of 8/4 ambrosia maple for the corners, and edge banding to make it look purdy.  I will eventually build some small drawers for that center area to hold clamps, dogs, tape measures, etc. as well as some in the back area next to the CT26 for whatever. 

As you can see, I still have room for a few more systainers.  [smile]

Looks great- I like how you made a cubby area for broom and clamps- will have to add that in my design.  Hopefully I'll have time to make mine this spring.

I only have 8ft ceilings so i attached a 24" rod with screw-in eyes, then use a bungee cord and a swivel clasp to suspend the hose.

I also wrapped the hose in Tech Flex 1 1/2" in diameter which works perfectly on the 27mm hose.

Can you give us a close up of both ends of the hose on the CT so i can see the transition or end point of the tech flex..

I have bern considering this stuff myself but am unsure i will like the unfinished ends.

Sure beats the cost of sourcing the Festool hose covers from overseas though! My other real consideration..

Nice work, but there's a potential for serious injury with the use of bungee cords.  They don't look harmful, but they can be dangerous.  Here's an article about what can happen.  I knew someone who lost an eye to one of these.

Thank you for the heads up; I've had (other) bungee cords snap back in the past but have been lucky.  In this instance, there isn't much tension on the bungee, just the weight of the hose itself.  It was more about convenience at the time I put it up to hold the swivel. One could definitely use a piece of para cord or clothes line instead to support the hose from the ceiling which I'll likely do this weekend.  Thanks again.

I've attached pics of the ends of the Tech Flex.  I think WOW used shrink wrap, but i didn't have any of that so i just used zip ties.  I used a lighter to keep the ends from fraying.

Nice Job. Hoping to get rid of my temp table and build something along the same lines for my mft.
Interested in the techflex idea. Do you think that size techflex would expand enough to fit the 36mm hose (with plugit) as well?

Definitely. It fits just fine over the plug it and my Bosch 35mm hose.

Thanks. I definitely prefer having the CT on the back - its now out of the way. I have plenty of storage elsewhere and to me the shop is now more ergonomic and "clean".
