Just had a customer ask about a Makita RP-1111C router. Looked it up on Makita's website, and it had some attractive features. Thought I would add one to our collection of routers we test with. Then I noticed all the retailers that offered it were from other parts of the world. NAINA nonsense from another corner.

Looks like worthy competition to the OF-1010.

Makita has a tendency to NAINA.  Their tiny 6.5" sliding LXT mitre saw would be welcomed... except I think they're under the impression everything needs to be 12" here.

I've had the previous RP-1100C for around 5 years. It's hands-down the best quarter-inch I ever used.

Hi, I see the sawstop contractors and the compact are available in the Eu.Maybe the tks and the Cs 70 will make the trek.the times they are a changing?

I've never seen that one, maybe because of the NAINA? It looks like a miniaturized version of the big 3 1/4hp that they have sold here for years. (RP2301)
It is really not available, as in can't be shipped here, or just not offered here?

Amazon UK lists it as RP1111 C/1 the 1 meaning 110v version. It does say it can ship here, but they are out of stock. It's also $25 more than the 240v version? They are quite proud of them though, selling for $423 + $68 shipping

Is that really them, or is that just the retailers? People would buy the things that are available, but there has to be some bias. The stores don't stock things based on volume projections, but that becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I wonder who is their expected demographic? For a non-sliding miter saw, a bigger blade increases crosscut capacity. With sliders that is not so much of an issue.  Back before the shop fire, I had a DeWalt 8.5" slider. It was great in most respects, the only exception being blade availability. It wasn't impossible, just took more planning. They were not stocked in retail stores, again not common enough.
I would guess that they think everyone using a miter saw is cutting 2X construction lumber (that's definitely the purpose of the included blade)

It's like Festool NA which also chooses which SKUs they want to bring over.  Casualties are the metric jigs.

Makita NA doesn't have the mentioned unit.  I think it is partly that trim here tends to include crown which is usually cut standing, hence the 12" ers.  I don't see much crown in Japan.  Most trim are filler strip sized... or larger planks which are cut with a circ anyways.  I think they do carry the larger units though for western style houses.

Temper your expectations as some stuff that shows as being for sale on the UK site ends up being something you cannot checkout with. There are other ways like finding a UK tool dealer with an online store.

The 110v will work fine. Most likely a universal motor that works on 110v/50Hz or 120v/60Hz. I have several UK tools that have worked without issue for several years.

I have never run into that with Amazon. If it can't ship to your "logged in" address, they will tell you right away.

I wouldn't have any problem with using a UK motor. My TS60 is a UK import. It was been fine for well over a year, nearly 1 1/2.

True Japanese 100 volt might cause me concern, but not UK110.
