That was a crushing defeat last night. I can't imagine what it's like to play your very best, as Kyrie and LeBron did, and still lose the game. It's the secondary figures on Cleveland who really lost the game -- at crucial moments they just couldn't sink their shots, and they needed to be close to perfect to have a chance. Cleveland actually had the game in hand except for that dopey play in the last two minutes where Kevin Love got stuffed by his own basket.
This whole series has been a revelation on the part of GS. The first two games were scary -- they just never take their foot off your throat, always pushing the basketball up the court in transition. Cleveland finally managed to slow the game down somewhat last night, but even then their defense was still incredibly vulnerable to GS's quick strikes.
I think most Cleveland fans are already starting to think about the off season and who they should add to counterbalance the Durant signing.

Yeah, I'm surprised that he did the same thing down the stretch that he did in the second half of Game 2, which was to be more of a facilitator than attack the basket. That's not to take away from his overall performance, but seriously, do you really want the game riding on JR Smith's or Kyle Korver's stroke rather than your own?
When the book closes on his career, this will be one of the things where he will inevitably come up short relative to Jordan. He just isn't as consistently dominant down the stretch as Jordan was in the last 5 minutes.

I think the reason for Lebrons fading towards the end of the game might be due to the fact he's just such a massive guy. He's probably tiring which is totally understandable given how large he is. He was just unstoppable in the first half.
Irving is such an impressive scorer. It seems almost impossible to stop him from scoring if he's determined to do so. Another thing about Irving is his ability to score in traffic can't be matched in my opinion and when he misses a shot or loses the ball, very often his relentless tenacity gets him the ball right back.
Durant is just such a huge piece to the Warriors this series. If he's wide open its almost a guarantee he's going to make it. That game ending three was a dagger to the Cavs and the crowd. The Warriors as a team need to be credited how they didnt fail under pressure when they were behind. Besides Draymond the Warriors have the best heads on their shoulders in the league. Very entertaining to watch.

I was at the game Sunday nite close enough to see the sweat on these guys.
What I noticed is LeBron is fatigued. He played almost the entire game and has done so much of the season. And done it for years. I bet he's got more minutes than any other player in in the NBA. He's still great, but with little to no bench talent he get no rest, or if he does go out GS rolls for ten unanswered. He's just worn out.
The Warriors' bench is a scoring, defensive, and rebounding machine. They don't really lose a beat by substituting. But, the biggest difference maker is KD. He showed last nite why he's a premiere player. Zero points in the third. Come clutch time at the end of the fourth and what's he do? Ten+ points with an in your face three against LeBron. Sick. Iggy comes off the bench an makes a steal against James. Sick, sick.
Never saw the Russell era Celtics in person, but this GS team seems every bit as dominant as those guys. I'm guessing even the Jordan teams get beat by these guys too, they have so many weapons and few weaknesses outside of D.Green's emotions. And he was on the bench most of Sunday and they still rolled by 20. [scared]

How is KD to the Warriors any different than James calling up Bosch and saying lets go play with D.Wade in Miami ?
Or Shaq to Miami and then LA to collect a couple of rings each place ?
Or Deion Sanders jumping Atlanta for the 49ers? And then ditching them to go to the Cowboys ?
Or all the guys that sign with the Pats for a year or two and collect a ring ?

West also sent Divac ( a really good player) to Charlotte for ................Kobe and rode that duo to the rings. He was definitel shopping situations and $$$ at the same time though.
Because of kooky CBA rules at the time, Orlando was SOL and got nothing except a black eye and a permanent place at the mediocre table. Shaq took a huge hit $$$ wise playing in LA because of CA taxes , but didn't care because the Magic screwed the pooch that badly. That team had Hardaway, Horace Grant, Dennis Scot, and Nick Anderson. They'd have seriously challenged the Bulls for sure.

even then at that time shaq was a one dominate man on his own team. he got destroyed by jordan bulls in the playoffs with a prime penny hardaway. kobe was a home grown player and came off the bench later came into his own. shaq didnt press the easy button. divac wasnt an all star player. their decent players were eddie jones and van excel.
im not even sure why youre arguing about shaq and kd situation being the same? NO one back then ridiculed shaq like they did with kd and LB. shaq was traded to miami...him and wade isnt a "superteam" in todays standards ...its 3 franchise players or more now due to the salary cap.

Sure today's super teams are different than 20 years ago. And in ten-twenty years the landscape will change again.
Divac's numbers put him in elite company among centers. Look them up. That move shows West's foresight. Divac was a fan favorite and a stud, it made little sense on the surface to trade for a high schooler with no experience. Except it turned out to be Kobe.
My real point is that Stars shop the best situation for themselves all the time. And money is not always the top criteria. Shaq could have gone elsewhere for the same or maybe a bit more $$$, but chose LA because of the opportunity to win. KD is no different now. He could have made a bit more dosh elsewhere but really wants a ring. Why should he go to a train wreck franchise like NewYork or Atlanta ?
If you look for a different job, do you search for a struggling company , or one that is in good shape ? I know some managers that specialize in turnarounds , but that's not how the majority of people are wired. Atheletes are no different.

as fans we want to see a competitive league/games. thats like watching bird joining magic cause he wants to beat jordan bulls. LB should join GS when he becomes a FA and take a pay cut...and westbrook decides he wants to join the party and comes off the bench for GS and win rings for the next decade in your opinion is perfectly fine.
Like other dynasties , this one will pass too.
San Antonio was unstoppable a few years ago, now they're just competitive.
Miami was a juggernaut and now they suck.
The eastern conference has all but given up thinking they can't beat LeBron, but GS is showing it's quite possible. Boston may challenge next year.
The Yankees have been mediocre lately but used to have an entire all star team.
