Hey everyone. I was hoping to get a little guidance or suggestion in setting a price for a couple of items I want to sell. I have had the Woodpeckers Parallel Guide System since it first came out. Of course it’s in the Systainer and mine is practically like brand new having been used maybe once or twice. Obviously, it’s just not something that I have found use for in my particular DIY projects. I know that Woodpeckers sells them new now for some ridiculous price of about $460 for the set. Parallel guide systems have become rather ubiquitous and I know you can pick up imported models for around $100. Can anyone give me an idea of what you would consider a fair resale price for my PGS? I’m looking to make someone a good deal on this pristine set, although I’m certainly not going to give it away for $100. If anyone has any ideas or know of anyone who might be interested, I’d love to hear back.

Thanks.

Are they Imperial or metric?

Over the past two months, most Imperial PGS have moved on eBay around $300 - $380 - regardless of brand. Metric Festool PGS have sold for $175 - $250 in that same time frame. Those with dual scale, like TSO, have been in the Imperial price range.

Metric woodpeckers PGS are now discontinued. A lot of their discontinued stuff, like Festool's, sells higher than original list. That may or may not hold true for their PGS given the multi-tool assembly/ install required. I last saw a metric WP set on the FOG classifieds at $375 and felt that was a fair price.

Also, where you sell might matter to you. eBay takes ~15%. If you sell direct (like a FOG listing) with PayPal they'll take ~3%. Local cash is always king, of course. Point being, the less overhead you have, the easier it is for you to get a fair price while also cutting someone a good deal.

Along with eBay, you should also put it on Craigslist with Chat and Email enabled. Also, place it onto Facebook Marketplace and OfferUp.

That will broaden your audience.
