I find use for the Senco PC1010 for very small work and the Makita Mac700 for a bit bigger work. They are both nice units but completely different sizes. The MAC700 is certainly louder than the little PC1010 but the sound is a lower, less irritating sound so maybe about even in the real world. The high end Senco guns are great but the low end units that come in the kits are complete crap. The PC1010 kit with the 18ga gun is only $35 more than the compressor by itself but save the $35 because the gun isn't worth it.
If you want the Makita MAC700, I would buy it in person as they seem to have lots of shipping damage problems. The MAC2400 doesn't have that issue and makes a better step up in capacity from the MAC700. It's nice for running guns for two people if that fits your need. It also move around in the back of a truck better as its wider and lower and stable just sitting there in a truck, which the MAC700 is NOT. It needs to be strapped down to be safe.
