I have a crazy Idea.. Working on getting all my tools organized and in Systainers. The cost for the Rolair Systainer compressor seems too high. I already have the small Senco Compressor (https://www.amazon.com/Senco-PC1010N-Finish-Portable-Compressor/dp/B01MG660X2/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=senco+compressor&qid=1609200704&s=hi&sr=1-2)
Ive seen several guys build that into a Sys4. My question is, would it be possible to wire two of my Dewalt Flexvolt batteries in series with something like this (https://www.amazon.com/battery-adapter-DeWALT-Flexvolt-connector/dp/B07VQWK8DF) and make a completely wireless  compressor set up?

I’ve seen an Instagram user [member=67310]igdesignla[/member] put the flex volt compressor in a tstak. He had to do a custom aluminum tank and cooling fans. But it’s all possible depends on how much work you want to do and how much you want to spend.

Hey unfortunately those motors are not usually designed for DC power.

You would need an inverter to create AC power for the compressor to run so you would experience a fair bit of loss in the conversion.

As far as making a cordless version, your best bet would be to use the dewalt 60v compressor guts like I did, or the new quiet Milwaukee m18 version. There is also a rigid and I believe even a ryobi compressor, and I found several Chinese compressors that you can order with different battery adapters and found one for both makita and dewalt 20v batteries.

If you put in a box like the Rolair/cadex or my tstak compressor you will definitely need a cooling system. I ended up running three 24v fans in series off the ~60v output and they provide sufficient cross flow over the compressor. It’s still not as clean or durable as the cadex or rolair but it gets the job done in the rare cases I need a little bit of portable air.

I think you'd be better off getting the DEWALT FLEXVOLT Power Station to run your senco compressor if the amps aren't too much.  Just my 2 cents though.  I'm not sure why everything must be cordless.  If you use an oilless compressor a lot, it will just stop working one day.  I've never had that problem with a compressor pump with oil.

Instead of putting it in a systainer I would design a rollcage that would attach to your systainers if that's what you want.  The biggest problem I've had with compressors on the job is them rolling around in the truck because of poor cage design, especially the three footed models.  It causes all kinds of damage.

My Senco lived in a Sys V, bought when Senco first released.  Used faithfully until earlier this year, had pin holes in the tank, my welder said "no can do, too many.  I recently bought the 18v Milwaukee compressor and used it the last two days.  It is a great replacement for the Senco.
