Need Recommendation for Carpet Floor Nozzle/Brush

My home vacuum cleaner finally died after close to 30 years of use.  Admittedly as a bachelor, it did not get used much and the vast majority of the house is not carpeted.

I actually use my Fein Turbo II with the Festool installers kit wand for vacuuming the tile areas and only used the Hoover upright for an area rug in the living room and the carpet in the home office.  (My CT36 is reserved for sanding.)

Rather than buying a new home vacuum cleaner (upright or canister), I was thinking maybe I could just get a floor nozzle with an air powered brush to use with my Fein setup.  I just bought a Flex (Nilfisk) 44 and might give that a try, too (provided I can find the right floor brush).

Any thoughts or recommendations?  Doesn't have to be Festool.

Thanks!

For anything except carpet, the Miele “parquet” brush is excellent.

I'll look into that for the tile flooring but my overriding concern is the carpet and area rug.

My Labrador was a hair machine and turned the area rug into a white shag carpet every couple of weeks.

He's passed on  :( so that issue is solved (for now) but I didn't realize how nice it was to have him clean up any crumbs I dropped when snacking on the couch.

C'mon peeps, he's asking for recommendations on makes and models of air turbine powered beater bars (also called "turbo brushes"). These things are a dime a dozen on eBay - just make absolutely certain that the diameter you buy matches what you need. Unless you're feeling lucky, I highly suggest that you contact sellers/retailers before you purchase to clarify the OD and ID of whatever beater bar you're interested in. Between the metric hose sizes, their imperial equivalents and then the odd ball sizes and possibility of proprietary locking fittings (and sales agents who often have no idea what they're selling) it can be a mine field when you start mixing and matching different brands/knockoffs. If non-sweatshop stuff is what you're after, stick with brands like Miele, Sebo or the like. You'll pay dearly for their attachments but you can be assured the part will stand the test of time. Also, there's always the option of buying a fitting designed for a different hose size and simply picking up an adapter. But here again I have to caution you to do you're homework to make sure the adapter adapts the two sizes you're working with. No one makes this easy.

I don't know how much this helps - but since you have already established the compatibility of your Fein and the Festool 'tube' parts...

All of my (standard size) Miele heads and nozzles are interchangeable with the basic (plastic) Festool cleaning kit that bought to use with the 27 hose with my Midi. Miele have some interesting attachments: a variety of wide "turbo" heads, both air powered and motorized, but also a very neat air driven edge brush, a very long flexible crevice tool and a soft brush head with full angle adjustment which lets you easily sweep, for example, the tops of tall cupboards or bookcases. They also do car cleaning kit (most parts available separately though) and a "micro" set for small detail or delicate vacuuming.

As sedge would say: " I hope that h...."
