...20 degree wind chills will prevent my FIL from having his morning cigar and tea.

Thankfully he and the boss will be in Florida tomorrow.

We only got grazed by the nor'easter, hope everyone else is making out okay.

Wayne,

Got up to 49 here today, however it is raining sideways and making the house creak a bit. No mean feat since we went 2 by 6 and insulated with spray foam, most of the time the house is pretty darn quiet.

Hope you are getting a break from the weather, good for the plowing business but you are probably seeing some long days. Stay safe up there.

Richard, We have been out quite a bit latey. Ever since i was 38, i have refused to plow driveways until the storm has just about ended.  We run into all sorts of fun plowing when the windshield wipers can't keep up and our mirrors get all iced up. We become part of the problem instead of the solution.  Today, we started plowing at around 9am as there was only a very light rain.  By noon, it had stopped and we had clear sailing until about 2:45 when a near blizzard hit.  Our other driver had fished hir route and i had told him to go home so he could get up early to do the sanding.  bout the time he headed down the pike, I was caught in white out.  I could not see either front or behind.  I still plowed four more drives but had to quit.  i was backing into snow banks and almost tangling with trees. Still two undone.  That spit deposited almost 3"'s in less than an hour.  All the hillside drives will need to be plowed again, so I'll be going out about 3am.  Great relaxation.  [wink]

At the risk of repeating myself, stay safe. Still planning to swap some tales with you on a porch somewhere.
