Sometime ago I sold my SCM S400P (made by Centauro) bandsaw, I bought it new and used about 10 times, after much thought I decided to sell it after 2 years of ownership, 4 weeks after the bandsaw is sold, I found myself needing a bandsaw to carry out some serious ripping.

Ever since then I've been lurking around for a quality used bandsaw. I dont particularly like new crops of bandsaw by Hafco/Jet...

So here it is. a 20 year old Sicar TOP 6. made in Italy, 600mm wheel size, ex school machine, very heavy, nice and clean condition. light surface rust on the table but easily removed.

Merit of the story is:

Dont ever sell your tools(unless upgrading), if you do, you are a bloody idiot

I've been trying to be faithful to that wise axiom but running out of room. :)

I'm shedding tools because I'm 75 and don't want my wife to have to deal with them. I'll keep what I need to maintain the house etc. but the bulk of them will be gone over the next few years.

part of the reason I sold my original bandsaw was because lack of room... I guess I just have to make room.... it is something very difficult to change at my current residence..

I have the same problem. Time for a bigger shop...

Yes, my 24'x24' shop in the back half of the garage is full. I have been expanding into the basement lately
taking over a corner about 20'x16'.

I'm pretty sure that if judged by weight, Warn Construction has everyone on this site beat by a couple tons.

True with basic tools like the bandsaw (because I can't imagine not using most of them for long enough to justify selling), but there are some tools which, if you don't use them in a very long time and you can sell them for a price close to the price you bought them for, maybe it's a good idea to move on.

Just my 2 moulders and widebelt sander weigh 26k pounds.  I gave up keeping track, probably 200k pounds worth of stuff in my shop.
