After a bit of research, I bit the bullet and picked up the new cyclone. I will be using it with a 10ish year old ct22 that is still running strong.
I had been eyeballing the dust deputy for years, but never pulled the trigger because it looked even more awkward than the ghetto bucket cyclone I was already using.
I have a toy chest build coming up, which won’t have any planing, but plenty of sawing and sanding, which is most of my use, anyway. So I’ll have a good sense of how it compares to no separator at all, and my ghetto unit (which has been working surprisingly well for me through the years).
I’ve got 1 paper bag left out of my last box, and then I’ll finally put in the long life bag I bought ages ago. (Haven’t used it yet because the bucket separator works reasonably well, I guess)
I suspect the combination of the cyclone and the long life bag will far outlast the old ct22, but then I guess I can get a fancy new DC.
