Impressive work! Please add me to the "want to buy" list as well. As it grows, perhaps you will be able to justify making more of these.

Saw this pop up in the classifieds, but too late. 8020 Bench in works, plus one on the waiting list, I would definitely like a set

Svar, looks like youre gonna have to figure out some way to produce more than a few of these. Youve got some interest here. If you need some help with a Solidworks 3D model for some CNC work PM me, I love playing around with that stuff. I have a couple of ideas for how you could keep the rods square with the mount bars once they are bolted in too.

Seems like those could be CNCed out of phenolic and achieve 90% of the goal.  Woodpeckers is making a square out of the stuff, leads me to believe it would be stable enough for this application.

Metal is better.

Very nice.  In my workshop, getting to the rear fixing is awkward.  I've considered making something similar for the front fixing, but with a double hinged rear fixing.

If the mounting had two hinges which were parallel but spaced apart by, say, two inches (50mm) then you wouldn't need to get to it to adjust it.  If you were cutting thin stock, the spacer would be nearly horizontal, and if you were cutting 8/4 stock it would be vertical.

I hope my explanation is clear enough!

This is how Ezsmart system from Eurekazone works. Its convenient, but does not provide upward support. The rail is supported by your material only.

Thanks for that; I'd not come across it before.

Is it a problem supporting the rail only on the material?  I do that whenever I'm using the saw away from the MFT.

Andrew

I wonder if Festool has fully stood up and taken notice yet?

Heck I just got an MFT, please include if this UPGRADE becomes available again.

Hi,

this is great work.  I'd be very interested in buying a set if another production run is completed.

Thanks,

John (Australia)
