NEW! Bluetooth Remote, New Accessories, New Abrasives + New MX 1200 Mixer (US)

[member=37411]ear3[/member], I included the Domino storage SYS 1 listed on toolnut.com for $63. But all the other accessories were included except the screwdriver.

Are the new hose ends compatible with the old hoses?

[member=24979]1951CorrectCraft[/member], compatible in what way? Like joining hoses together? If that's what you mean, you would need to use the method of changing the connectors and using a coupler, which has been the method used for the "old" hoses. The "new" hoses can be joined together without the need of a coupler.
Ishould have asked can I put the new hose ends on a old hose. I have the connectors, just inconvenient sometimes.

Ah ha! Well, I asked about the new hose connectors and was told that they are made specifically to work with the sleeve on the new hoses. Not sure if that means that they will work with the old and new hoses. Or, only the new.

Let's see what [member=101]Festool USA[/member] has to say. My guess is that it will work with both.

Here's a link to the new version for the 36mm hose. I don't see a new model in Festool's announcement for the 27mm hose. Tyler can we get an item number for that spare part as well? Thanks!

Just sharing some info... I had a customer ask what size battery the Bluetooth remote control takes. I was able to find a review online from a YouTuber in the Netherlands that says it's a very common sized CR2032. I have a message out to Festool to confirm, but unless I post otherwise, that's the size. It does come with a battery. This is just for those wanting to know so they know that it's not proprietary or hard-to-find as a replacement.

Shane,

I have the light grey 3.5m 27mm hose I use with my CT 22 for clean up on work bench etc. I have a new 5mm 27mm hose in my shopping cart at Toolnut but am a little hesitant that the increased length will reduce the suction too much. Again I use it to cklean up shavings, etc only and it is never hook up to a tool. What really bugs me about the grey hose it the ribs hang as I pull it across the workbench. The CT 22 has the Ultimate Dust Deputy on it and boom arm, etc.

Jack

PS I am attempting to attach a pic but it may be too big.

Thx for the link to my video.  [laughing]

I am using the hose sleeve for a while now, and it is a great solution for making your old hose snagless.
The only thing we can't do is make the inside smooth.

I assume that the Bluetooth remote module will not work on a CT22 & CT33?

[member=2912]Don T[/member], unfortunately, no it will not.

[member=10616]Claimdude[/member], we sell a product called TechFlex that you can use on your existing hose if you're just looking to have that braided sleeve functionality. I want to say [member=11196]Peter Parfitt[/member] did a video about suction over various lengths of hose. Let me see if I can find it. As I recall, the lose of suction was very minimial. The new hoses are smooth on the inside and conical (tapered) along their length which is suppose to improve suction at the tool end.

I couldn't quickly find the video I thought I remembered seeing on hose length and its impact on suction. I'll keep looking. In the meantime, here are some threads on the topic.
http://festoolownersgroup.com/ask-f...0-mm-hose-without-loss-of-suction-efficiency/http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-tools-accessories/maximum-hose-length/http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-tools-accessories/ct-22-reach-possible/http://festoolownersgroup.com/festo...e-length-of-a-hose-for-a-ct22-dust-extractor/http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-tools-accessories/maximum-hose-length/http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-how-to/ct-133-hose-length/

And a quote that I made in that first thread based on specs from Festool when I was there.

I was able to gain access to some information. The maximum length for combining D50 and D27 hoses is 98'. We would only recommend this length, or lengths beyond say 60' for fine dust like that produced by sanders.

Thanks Shane! I will get the long one.

Hi [member=48572]Shane Holland[/member]

I think the video that you might be remembering was when I was testing the UDD and made a home made testing gadget that gave an indication of static pressure.

I do have several lengths of 27 mm and 36 mm hose. My 5 m length of 36 mm hose works better than my shorter lengths of 27 mm.

I think I found the recipe:

The only problem is that the sleeving makes the hose a lot stiffer. I have 2 of them downstairs that I no longer use. One for a CT 22 and one for a MIDI.

Cheese,

I agree. I have the sleeving on the hose I use on my Boomarm  [huh]hose and it captures the power cord. I prefer the integrated design of the new hose, ie no separate sleaving, and do no need a power cord for this application.

This was being discussed in another thread, but I wanted to post it here too.

The Festool USA website seems to have created some confusion over the new Bluetooth module. Some folks understandably read that website to say that the Bluetooth module was included with the new vacs. I have reached out to Festool USA and they have confirmed that the new vacs do not include any Bluetooth capability. The Bluetooth module and remote are sold separately.

I have used the Techflex Flexo Pet and do not notice any reduction in flexibility of the hose.

Not sure if its been stated already or not, but can you have two remotes paired to a single vac? Might be nice to have multiple hoses with the remote on them.

[member=58821]ben_r_[/member], up to five remote controls can be connected to one vac.

Oh awesome! Thank Shane! Ill probably pick up another couple remotes just to have one on each hose!

Fresh video showing the new improvements to the vacs and the optional Bluetooth module.
