New carvex PS 420

I've been looking at the videos on the Festool.de site and trying to look at the differences to my current Carvex and it looks like the current blade guide holder has been simplifies to only a roller and the small unthreaded hole in the aluminum block where the interchangeable soles attach seems to be taken into use as a screw hole to attach the new blade guide part.

I wonder will Festool offer an upgrade path for the blade guide for the old Carvex? Or could one successfully modify the old one to accommodate the new guide system?

Wouldn't want to have to buy a new jigsaw to be able to do tight curved cuts when I've barely run my current one 10m in total...

They are going to have to contend over here in NA with Bosch's new jigsaw the JS572EL.
As much as I love Festool, im not waiting for the carvex, when bosch's jigsaw comes out in august I will be one of the first to own one.
That new Bosch looks interesting.

Got some more insider info,
- the PS420 will have 50 more watts
- has the blade guide from the trion
- and PS400 jigsaws CANNOT be adapted or upgraded  [mad]

I guess being forced to wait, here in the the USA, was not so bad after all.

Thats very very very annoying and  disappointing.    Im really annoyed.  Angry actually!

I thought I would hold off because of my T15 drill hassle but gave festool a second chance and still bought the carvex on release.

I will be contacting my dealer see what can be done if im not happy at the end of the day I will NEVER buy a festool tool for AT LEAST 2 years from its release date and I will tell EVERYONE not to buy festool regardless if its good or not and I have helped 'sell'' thousands of pounds of festool stuff due to my recommendation plus I have bought thousands of pounds worth my self.

[dead horse] [dead horse] [laughing] [laughing] [laughing]

I have just finished reading someone a bedtime story that went along the lines of

"Once upon a time in a far off world called Never Never Land" and I think Alan that is about as realistic as your hope!!!

If you have paid good money for a tool and it doesn't work and on top of that you aren't getting service - write a letter to Festool HO.

Even if there's 1,000 bad CARVEX units in the market place, I think Festool will address it.

If it's a tool that's had "good usage" and is no failing ... that's one thing, but a tool that can't be used is another!

Well, remember the Austin Allegro - another lemon but they just kept on selling them see, I recall it was so advanced the prototype had a square steering wheel!

Anyway I think JMB,Woodguy etc should get brand new and if there's any argy bargy well join up form a committee [who's chairman  [smile]] and address the issue until it's resolved . It's basically not on and Festool's reputation is at stake. They've already admitted the first was flawed by releasing the  new version so your halfway there.

Festool are replacing the "old" carvex PS400. with a new carvex PS420

Due to heavy wearing in the current Carvex which is the cause of many carvex jigsaws being sent back for repair.

????? Is this true????? I'm not sure!

Festool decided I was right and the Ti15 is crap and they are going to stop making them[tongue] is this true? H E L L yea it is!

Just got my PS420 after my PS 400 was sent for three repairs . Told Festool I was not happy with the PS 400 and got one of the first in the uk as a free replacement . Will keep you posted on the new PS 420

This is great news, Hope we see it here in the USA soon!

That's good to here & look forward to hearing how you get on with the 420.  Mine has been back 3 times & have been promised a swap also, still waiting for the rep to call me though !  Think I will go call him Again now  [huh]

Welcome to the FOG by the way.  Where in Scotland are you, which dealer do you use ?

Cheers, Woodguy.

Lucky you getting replacements.

All I got from our Festool setvice was a rebranded (Trion -> Carvex text) S75/4 FSG blade and a shrug of shoulders and a quip 'The thinner blades do deflect but it sort of works with this blade for circles. Can't do anything about it. Here's a free sample of a 'new' blade that was specifically designed to work on carvexes.'

I put it next to a S75/4 FSG blade that I had with the Trion text on it and I can't find a single difference except the Carvex text on it. I would presume it would have a different product name if it was any different from the previous S75/4 FSG?

Don't know what to do next.

After having the new PS 420 I am glad to say this one is performing like a Festool product should be  [smile] long term use should weed out any problems but lets just hope there are none

Glad to hear it , the blighters should replace all those dodgy 400's.....

I'am excited to see the Carvex PS 420 come to the USA.  [smile]

I bought a Trion when Festool decided NOT to ship the Carvex in the USA.  Now I want a cordless Carvex PS420.  [big grin]
