funny that, i was on the phone to someone at tts UK and asked the question re: the 420 and was told no , and this person trains people there. i am not sure until festool produce it, how often would they change tools it may mean they will shelve either the 400 mains or the battery models, just a thought.

I would have thought a running change is more Festool's style.

Also, I haven't seen a flood or near new CARVEXs on Ebay - if the situation was so bad, you'd think there'd be a few more.

Or that everyone is reading FOG and the wise ones are avoiding it like the plaque after all the rave reviews of it here [tongue]

For the record: I did buy mine after reading the reviews here and haven't had enough quality time with it to say one way or the other (except that the battery models don't fit the CMS module).

Yes, that's what I reckon too. Given the bad press and all the problems, sales were probably far below expectation hence the lack of Ebay activity.

Remember, it's a Festool not a Mafell.

If the first edition Carvex is that bad I'm sure Festool offered a buy-back
or exchange program so their customers aren't stuck with an ongoing bad experience.

Well if that is true then why I am still stuck with the WORST I MEAN WORST every  jacob chuck in the world  more than 3 years later?!  I have said many of times how crap the festool Jacob chuck was and couldnt believe festool made a chuck so bad!  and HEY! All new festool drills now come with a new upgraded chuck! but I am still stuck with the crap one!   I have had no offer to buy back or exchange! So I dont think they will EVER do that.

What are they rumored to be "updating" on the ti15?

Well not sure it's reliable source but end of the year they are bring one out. I assume it will just be the Ti18  just hopefully better.

Here is also a picture of the Carvex PSC 420 EBQ.
If I am not mistaken you can clearly see a different sawblade guide, with a little Allen screw just like the Trion.
