Hey guys, Festool just released some new Centrotec accessories and sandpaper...

2) 495130 Stubby Centrotec Brad Point Bit Set. 8 piece set from 3-8mm. $40.00

HOOORRRAAAY!  I love these.. They're my most-used drill bits and I was just thinking I need to order some backups from over the pond.

Awesome - good timing then! I'm pretty pumped about the 495228 since I missed out on this in the centrotec 98 piece set!

That is the only item I wanted from the installers kit!

I've been quite patient!

Bob

I wish I'd never got that screwdriver handle. My kids fight over it every time they come to the workshop.

One wants it because it's green and the other wants it because the first kid wants it.

I have two boys myself - isn't it amazing how one item's stock can rise because one child is playing with it?????

You'll never have to wait for Granat paper again for your RS2E if you think about it.....

True. Neither will my grandchildren.

For a DIYer like me, this is total overkill. A 25 sheet pack would still be a lot for me, but much more reasonable. I was expecting 10 sheet packs like for the Rubin.

Come on guys!! If you're not the lead Dog the view never changes.  Just join up with a few fellow woodworkers and split up the box.... What.. none of your woodworking friends use Festool or sand paper? .... Time to buy a case of beer and have a sanding party.... ??? whatever that is... :-\

Cheers,
Steve

From Wikipedia.....

Sanding party: An excuse to drink beer with friends while away from the wife and family without feeling too guilty because we're sanding a piece we're making for her......

That's awesome!  "Guys, it's a kegger! er, 100-sheet-er!"  That didnt come out right... (I'm at a 'sanding party' right now :))

Heck no, my original idea of a sanding party was any sander any paper... [eek].... well any Festool .. hmmmm...  Oh what the heck let's show up the those other tools....and let them try to keep up!!!  But you will need a cover for your beer if they are invited... They really aren't clean sanders and can't be trusted ...don't ya know.... they might put something in your beer. I'm  I tool profiling???? [scared]

Cheers,
Steve

I'll do you one better - as long as we can get enough FOG'ers to take the 50/100 per grit I'll split them up and ship USPS flat rate envelope...Just a thought....That would be the least expensive shipping charge I believe. It will keep the quantities down and the shipping cost to you guys at a minimum. Obviously, it may take a little while longer because I'll have to order it in from Festool and not drop ship it, but it's just a thought. Please let me know if I can help facilitate that for you all!

That's great, Peter! I guess I'll start.

For my current project, I only need 80 and 120 grits. (I'm planning to use the RO 125 for finer work.) I would consider 180 and 220 grits too if that's necessary. Preferred quantity: 10 each. 20 or 25 each would be okay too.

What do you say, guys? Anyone else willing to split some packs?

Ed, thanks! Let's hope we can get others on board with this. I'll make a spreadsheet showing who wants what grit and quantities to keep things easy for tracking. I'll be on the lookout for others, either posting here, by a pm, or by email. Thanks guys!

Has anyone else considered taking Peter up on his offer?

13) 498946 80 Grit Granat 1/2 Sheet Sandpaper 100 pack. $38.00

14) 498947 120 Grit Granat 1/2 Sheet Sandpaper 100 pack. $55.00

I'd be willing to split any of the above with anyone. Seems like I go through the low grits I use to prep with alot faster.

The stubby set is the one that is of most interest to me.

Adding it to my shopping list for now.
