Festool posted this rather inconspicuous image on their Facebook today and lo and behold if you zoom in far enough you'll find a whole bunch of new cordless tools:
  • DFC 500 cordless Domino (center left)
  • OFKC 500 EB cordless edge trimmer
  • OFKC 700 EB cordless edge trimmer
  • MFKC 700 EB cordless trim router (all top left)
  • HLC 82 EB cordless planer 82mm width (center)
All about a decade late to the party but finally, finally: here they are!

Thanks for that... :)

Although a cordless DF 500 I just really can't understand as you still need to attach a vac hose and the form now follows that of the DF 700 but hopefully it won't get the DF 700's added heft but only the controls.

The MFKC 700, now that could be a dinner winner as is the HLC 65.

looks like the collated drywall screw gun is back (?)

kinda like the cordless domino. one less thing to handle, plug in, trip over etc

Was available all the time. Was it discontinued in the US?
Cordless domino would make more sense if chip extraction was integrated, but I guess it's nice to pair with a cordless vac now.

Just updated my post, turns out it's actually a 82mm planer. Really curious how well the handling on it will be. The cordless trimrouter will be a winner for sure.

I could see myself switching to the new cordless Domino if it's got the rear handle design similar to the DF700. Much prefer its ergonomics.

I wonder if this is a way to extend the life of the patent?

Should be available in Europe at the beginning of October.
The planer has some kind of accessory to put a 45 degree chamfer on a piece of wood if you buy the set version.

They certainly fixed the handle design on the DF500! Looks great!

And kidding that a cordless MFK700 won't be popular!

Scratching my head at the cordless OFK offering though, I would have thought that to be a very niche or low volume seller because of the high cost of the proprietary cutters?

There is also a new 5.0 battery coming that claims to have 50% more power (tabless cells?)

BP 18 Li 5,0 HP-ASI 578519

The new planer and the new updated HKC 55 KEB will be able to use this extra power.

The MFK and the planer are definitely on my radar now. And the 2500 screwgun if that's been re-released.

Bitterly disappointed at no cordless TS60 though. I've been holding out hope for that a while now! ;-(

The MFK will be sweet...no question about that. The planer will be nice if it accepts the dust bag from the HL 850. That way you're completely cordless. :) That'd be a liberating experience for a lot of different venues. I already own the HL 850 so that's probably a no-go for me.

I've also been patiently waiting for the TSC 60 K...maybe it'll be just a little longer. 🤞🤞🤞

Keep in mind that the new planer will use new proprietary blades that are not compatible with any other planer, not even the hl850.
The HLC 82 seems to have a similar spiral cutting action like the other Festool planers.

I already have a dedicated Virutex chamfering planer, so I'll happily change to the cordless planer and sell the Virutex. It looks like maybe the dust port is compatible with the HL850 bag, and has a dust hose connector to swap either side?
