Keep in mind that the new planer will use new proprietary blades that are not compatible with any other planer, not even the hl850.
The HLC 82 seems to have a similar spiral cutting action like the other Festool planers.

No doubt CSP Tooling will release a spiral head for it the same as they did for the HL850, and all the other brands.

The planer will be nice if it accepts the dust bag from the HL 850.

Almost looks like the swivel adapter from the TS55 fits on it, which also means then that the HKC/TSC55/CSC50 bags also will work when that swivel adapter is removed.

OMG, you can change DFC500 width settings without it on

I've always reset my DF 500 width setting while the tool is off...you just have to be careful. However, Festool still suggests you change the DFC 500 & the DF 500 RQ when the tool is operating.

But only 2 sets of paddles, not 3 like the DF700.

Given how ergonomic the DF700 is, the new handle design and placement I reckon it now looks way better to manage.

I have no need for a cordless Domino, but it's a pretty exciting tool release.

The updated corded domino (DF 500 RQ) also has the new fence.

Most likely the patent of the pins ran out and Festool could return to using them.

Now why would they do yet another kerf size. It's not like HKC is used for finish carpentry.

I think the hkc now has a riving knife and the kick back stop. I think they went to 1.6 because it was previously underpowered with only one battery. Now if they bring a cordless ks60 with the riving knife and two batteries, I’m all in for it. But please stay at 1.8mm for that one….

A glitch in the matrix in this thread…. Am I the only one who sees the paradox in Hawkeye looking at an inconspicuous picture and seeing the cordless domino?
