New Festool Abrasive systainer HSM-Sys!

I just find this new hand abrasive systainer on Festool germanys site..  seems nice, going to pick one up as soon they are in store!

Yes. I bought it shortly after it became available.

I mostly used the sanding blocks and the Granat.

I find it to be a nice collection if you want to take sandpaper for handsanding but are not sure what you need.

But it is not as useful as I thought in the beginning.

I will most likely try and find some time next winter to personalize the contents, because I like the Idea of a take-away-sanding-Systainer. But the HSM-SYS really covers the whole range with Vlies and other stuff going up the grits into the thousands.

The blocks are throw-away type?  [blink]

It seems it's also discontinued.

Yes the blocks are a piece of foam wrapped in Sandpaper.
To my knowledge the sanding pads/blocks etc. are all available.
I have bought the blocks multiple times over the past year.

They last quite a while, most helpful is to put a vacuum to them every now and then.
Since they are foam, they contour to edges etc. And at least with the online offers, I have found them to be cheaper than the Bosch alternative here in Germany.

In the US I think there is also one available from 3M.

Yes, but the Systainer set is. Good thing that the pads are still available.

I got one 2nd hand but brand new for half the price what I could find on the internet.
Looked like a good deal to me!

Was considering buying one yesterday for €75 but then it would be delivered at a bad time. Today it showed €55, so I am glad I waited that one more day  [tongue]
