I apologize in advance...

I can just see Shane sitting at home in his recliner with a beer laughing at us as he reads this!  [poke]  He gave us a taste and took it back. Sounds like something I would do.  [big grin]

Man we REALLY need a pot-stirring smiley bad!!!

Noah that picture is freaking hilarious.  And also more-than-slightly disturbing.

For those of you that don't know, that's a troll from reddit.com

Is this something exclusive through Tool Nut, or do all dealers have the new catalog?

Greg, I believe that all the dealers will start getting their catalogue.  So, I wouldn't worry. If you haven't got your catalog, I would contact your dealer; specially if you have made some recent purchases.  ;) hint hint to all the dealer here at FOG   ;D ;D

Also as other long time Festool user have mentioned, generally the price increase coincides with the new catalogue.  So, have you notice...  the catalogue is good for 2011-2012 which we can safely conclude that the prices will not change for the next two years!!!!  (unless Festool issues and amendment..).

That's the "beauty" of a separate price schedule they can produce a page or two with new prices without having to redo the entire catalog.

Shane,

you don't miss much ever, and when you (rarely) do, you are right on  top of yourself.  [big grin]

Must...have...link...

Lol...please put that bad boy back up!!!  I wanna see some of the perty pictures!

I went on the Festool (Canadian) website and filled out the catalogue mailout request.  I hope they send out the new one, as there was nowhere to add a comment specifying the new one versus receiving another old one for nothing.

Kevin/all, if you request a catalog, you'll get the new 2011/12 version.

If it has not been said already, I real like the way the sandpaper is laid out in the new catalog.  Makes it easy to find what you are looking for.

One thing I don't like about the new US catalogue, and that's the quality of the paper. It's really thin & feels cheap. I don't know what the US catalogues are usually like (this is the first one I've seen) but the UK catalogue is printed on a much higher quality paper. Having said that the last UK catalogue was slightly lower quality than the previous one - maybe it's just a general trend?

Jonny,

I think the older catalogs were printed on Rubin and the new ones are printed on Brilliant 3 which is basically all the catalogs you threw out the previous years, ground up, mixed with some wheat germ and voila! new catalog.  Festool has been privately talking amongst themselves about bringing out a special edition scratch and sniff catalog for you and JMB.  That sounds like a great idea!  [big grin] [poke] [poke]

I agree.  IMO the 2009 catalog was higher physical quality.  The paper was thicker and "held" the image better, more glossily or something.  But, it's not a National Geographic or something where the picture quality is important as the pictures themselves.  And it is not the super-thin paper you see in most US-company catalogs.

With that said, it doesn't bother me.  I cruised through it cover to cover the other night  [embarassed].  I also really like the new abrasives organization.  I came across only one photographic / graphic error, and spotted pins on a Domino.

is there a new eu calogouge on the way

Alan,

The current UK catalogue is 10/11, so I don't think there's likely to be a new one soon. I'd guess they'll wait until the latter half of this year at the earliest (they need to bring some new toys tools out first, so there's something new to put in a catalogue!).
