NEW Festool Coming April 2019 - MW 1000 Mobile Workshop + New Accessories! (US)

Now I just need someone to give me one of the MW 1000 and a Shaper Origin for free and I'll be set  8)

I'm surprised no one has commented that the mobile workshop is a pretty clear rip off of Timothy Wilmotss' MFTC.  And they did the same with the Systainer with an MDF work top.  I'm a big festool fan but they should throw the guy a bone for giving them the basis for these tools.  I actually think the MFTC with extension tables is more functional as it has a place to store the rails inside the extensions while your working.

Looks like a stretch to say rip off.  The problem you get into is the classic one that has been around for the dawn of time.  People all around the world come up with similar/same ideas at the same time. It doesn't mean one copied the other.  The general idea isn't exactly a huge stretch of the imagination. Festool already had CMS extension tables, and wheels for systainers, etc.  Someone making something and posting it online doesn't mean everyone who does something similar copied that person.  Unless someone goes patenting something, and it holds up in court, no one got ripped off.  If you come up with something and then post it online, you have just entered your idea into the public domain, you just gave it to the whole world and have zero expectation of anything coming your way.  And of course there can be someone at festool that worked hard on this thing and never saw the MFTC you mentioned, would you want to be that festool person having people saying you ripped someone off that you very well never heard of?

I think the MTF systainer guy actually pitched it to festool or worked with them in some way.

[member=48572]Shane Holland[/member], aside from the obvious $1, what is the difference between these two:
493656 - S155/W Foam Cutting Jigsaw Blades
204345 - S155/W Foam Cutting Jigsaw Blades

I'm a little confused on the Kapex UG crown stops.  Are those only for recent UG extensions (e.g. an updated model), or do they fit on ones purchased many years ago?

[member=8843]Kodi Crescent[/member], the UG extensions have not been changed since they were introduced, aside from giving customers the option for imperial scales. So, the (new, 203356) crown stops will work with all UG extensions.

So, the crown stops will work with all UG extensions.

I would just clarify, the NEW Crown Stops will work with the UG extensions.

The OLD Crown Stops, 494369, will NOT work with the UG extensions, in this case it is one or the other attached to the Kapex itself.

Was the new mobile workshop delayed?
I ordered one with an extra drawer and a MFT3(@10%discount)  from Beaver Industrial Supply and was told Festool had delay the mw1000 to mid April.

I’m reading that it’s shipping from some dealers. What’s the real story? Thanks in advance.

[member=122]chiudesign[/member], we started shipping them on 4/1 and have everything in stock if you want to give us a chance to fulfill your order. Free shipping and the 10% off will be applied automatically in your shopping cart. Our website, unlike some, shows realtime inventory so you know whether what you're ordering is in stock or not.

Festool has not announced any type of delay to my knowledge for what it's worth and our shipment was not delayed.

I see your in the City, so you could also pick it up if you wanted. We're in Yorktown Heights, NY.

Order the Festool MW 1000

Shane

Thanks Shane, I've bought almost half of my Festools from you guys before and was very happy.
Just wanted to try Bob Marino's "Successor" and already placed an order a week ago and was told the other items would ship despite the delay with no update. I'll give them a chance to respond within 24 hrs to before I cancel and order from you guys.
I'm in Santa Clara now and plan on ordering more items with you. Thanks!

Ward, I think there is something wrong with the Beaver.

Helps to watch old American television shows to get this one.

Well, what did you do? Did you hear from Beaver about the delay?

[member=48572]Shane Holland[/member] Can we get clarification of the ability of the MW-1000 extension table to connect to a CMS, such as the CMS-GE? Is it a matter of it will rest on the profile of the CMS-GE but not clamp down securely? I know I saw a post somewhere but I can't locate it.

[member=65062]DynaGlide[/member], sure, and I probably was the one who posted about it before. And, I think I have a note on our website about it.

The CMS GE lacks the T-slot style extrusion that's found on the MFT/3. It only has the V-groove extrusion. The MW-1000 extension uses that T-slot as a connection point. So, it will technically connect to the CMS GE, but it's not terribly secure and stable. I would say that they could be used together but you would want to supplement the connection with a clamp. Or, one of our contributor here on the FOG may come up with a better solution.
