So I should be good to go to run a shortened non-antistatic hose from my Kapex to the CT26 without fear of damaging any electronics/circuit boards if I do not live in a low humidity environment?

Since Festool is responsible for any warranty issues, let's get an official Festool response from [member=71429]DerickC[/member] or [member=101]Festool USA[/member].

Curious... for those who are considering the CT 15, how do you plan to use it? It looks like several folks are going to use their CT 15 as a dedicated vac for the Kapex. Share your thoughts...

Considering a dedicated vac  for my Shaper Origin.  The 15  doesn't appear to be able to stack on top so might go with the CT Sys once I get my indoor workstation built.

For anyone wondering (because we did), the hose garage for the new MINI/MIDI will fit the CT15 (204717). This isn't particularly surprising since this vac is essentially a "lite" version of the CT MIDI. The only caveat is that the location of the filtering cleaning mechanism will be open as shown in the attached photo.

Hey Shane, thanks for the info. The hose garage fitting is very appealing to me, so thanks for sharing that, that was the one thing I was on the fence about.

Question on the lack of filter cleaning mechanism (to you or anyone who wants to chime in), is this a big deal? I've never had a CT vac before and the CT15 is much more in my price range, just don't want to overlook anything that could be a nuisance.

[member=70130]nicholam77[/member] the lack of a filter cleaning mechanism really isn't a big deal in my opinion but the other members can weigh in. I've rarely, if ever, used it on my vacs. It's easy enough to pull the filter out and give it a tap periodically if you think it's catching a lot of debris. But the bag filters down to 1 micron, so the likelihood of the filter getting clogged is very low.

Any chance that the boom arm fits?

[member=23333]Df1k1[/member] unfortunately no. But you can probably find some threads on the forum where people have come up with home grown solutions.

Ok, great, thanks for the reply!

My CTs are old. When did FT start including a filter cleaning mechanism?

[member=297]Michael Kellough[/member] the now-discontinued CT 22/33 units had one on the back of the machine. The new MINI/MIDI have a lever on the side for manual filter cleaning.

All, we have received a notification from Festool USA that due to impacts on their supply chain, the introduction of the CT 15 has been delayed until April 17th. This delay impacts all Festool retailers in the U.S.

Is this that their supply chain is has under produced or can't deliver produced items because of Covid-19 issues ?

[member=67935]xedos[/member] I think this would be a question for Festool since they better know the reason(s) for the delay and what, if any, impact there has been from COVID-19.

While that may very well be true - what do you think the chances of them tell us anything are  ?

Since you volunteered the info , It seemed the best person to ask with the most reasonable chance of getting an answer was your's truly.  Alas, the party line of little or no comment from Festool seems to be alive and well.

[member=67935]xedos[/member] I'm just trying to keep our customers updated on the status of their orders.

I'm sure we'll see more and more manufacturers impacted by COVID-19. Especially those with manufacturing in China, which would not impact Festool since they produce in Germany. However, Germany is also impacted.

Festool stated that they had higher than expected demand for the CT 15. They stated there are disruptions to their supply chain that they are monitoring. It takes 4-6 weeks for product to get from Festool Germany to Festool USA. Which would indicate the CT 15 units are already on their way to the U.S.

I'm in Germany right now, just like The Netherlands the entire country is shutting down to prevent the spread of the corona virus.

Same here, and it seems that it equals over whole Europe.
We’re shuttled home with home office for a good period. There are delays all over, but there’s distribution, albeit food and life necessity’s are clear priorities.

Shane,
Thanks for the heads up. I hadn't seen the charge on my card and wondered when the vac would ship. A few more weeks cause of a worldwide pandemic seems pretty reasonable. Crazy time we are living in, thanks for spending all the time you do here answering questions and such.
