As many of you are aware, beginning tomorrow Festool USA will no longer be selling directly to customers.  In order to make it easier to locate a dealer in your area, I have modified the dealer locator on the Festool USA website so that you no longer have to search through an entire list of dealers by state.  Simply enter your zip code and get a list of the ten closest dealers.  There is also a link for a listing of online dealers if you prefer to shop online.  Thanks.

Thanks Shane.  A great improvement for large states like California.  I assume that it shows nearby dealers regardless of state--more important for those Eastern states all jammed together.

Some of the companies you list have websites that you don't list.  Even if they don't show Festools on their sites, the website influences where I might want to shop.  In your spare time  :) , you might encourage your dealers to tell you their URLs.

An enhancement would be search by area code, which is a common way of thinking in So Cal.

Now the bad news--I entered my area code and tanked the zip code code.

"Index and length must refer to a location within the string.
Parameter name: length"

Robustification is needed.

Dang it, Ned!  Just had to go and break it, didn't ya?!  Now robustified and Ned-proofed (hopefully).

Better, Shane.

Entering 00000 gets me Jackson Mississippi.  Probably reasonable.
Entering 99999 gets me Sao Paulo, Brazil !!!  Interesting, but probably beyond your reasonable ability to control.

Try to enter a Canadian Postal Code, can't enter more than 5 characters (reasonable if you'll only allow US codes, although you could point them to Haefele)
Try entering a partial Canadian Postal Code, complains that it ain't a valid US one.  (OK)

Try entering an area code, complains that it ain't a valid US one.  (OK)
Try entering alphas, try entering specials, both alone and after a partial numeric zip code, complains that it ain't a valid US one.  (OK)

Anything else you'd like me to stress?  Or would you prefer I just go away?  :P

I'm beginning to see some logic in your choice of avatars  ;D

Well.....when I first read Ned's post his Devil avatar was being displayed, now it's a slot machine. When you read this....? I guess now there is no logic at all.

Shane,

Are you keeping the ability to create a wishlist? I'd be nice if you could make it easy to email it or import it into Excel.

Mike,

The new and improved website will allow you to build a wishlist and having email and export capabilities are no problem.

Shane,
Thanks for the link.  This probably belongs either in the "Reference Library" or the "General Discussion" area, so it gets more visibility.  What do you think?
