Well the cat is out the bag and the following items are to be released in the Autumn

1) Festool Impact Driver (apparently with the ability to switch off the "impact" function)

2) The Big Domino Jointer, and

3) A Festool Site Light (details a bit sketchy on that at the moment.

Oh I forgot to say that date is for Europe and I believe Oz, so when or even if they ever reach NAINA land who knows :o :o

Thanks for the info Guy.  I can't wait to hear comments on the impact driver.

I'll be interested to see if Festool can produce an impact driver that:
a) is compatible with the T-15 batteries (all but certain if they are smart...and they are)
b) can make me consider replacing my beloved Makita impact driver with theirs (unknown)

I'm certainly interested in seeing what they come up with.

Never fear, we've got at least 3 years of hearing about how great (or not) it is from our friends on the other side of the pond before we'll be able to put any money down (if we're lucky). :)

Wrong.  You think the Festool Genie doesn't pay attention to the North American wish list?

From previous threads here, it seems that impact drivers are much more popular in the US than in Europe.  If that's the case, Festool would be killing that impact driver to release it NAINA for years.  I believe it is being shown (physically or just in pictures?) at AWFS right now.  I dunno cuz I'm at my day job  [crying]

I just hope the impact driver doesn't have a strobe light on it- we'll never get it over here if it does...... [eek]

Umm?  You sure?  Impact drills/drivers are very common here in uk now

JMB,

Impact drivers are usually different than drills with an impact feature.  I believe that's what Paul-Marcel is referring to - impact drivers.  Didn't we recently have this whole discussion?  [blink]  I thought it was all cleared up for you?

No, I really didn't know that you meant driver when you stated drill.  Dean's posts definitely helped.  Thanks Dean!
