Hi there,

I just wanted to check if this is to be expected before complaining to Axminster/Festool. So I just got a brand new Kapex 60 to replace my 10 year old bosch axial glide.

I'm setting it in a lowered unit to it's flush with workbench to left and right. When I put a straight edge across the saw from left to right it has a slight rock.

Is this normal?

Thanks

Not normal if there a high point in the middle (if that's what you meant by rocking). I'd rather have a dip than a high point. How much is it rocking? Any pic?

I have an old Kapex and I've learned bracing the wood on the left side of the blade and the cutoff on the right side of the blade, I get a square cut measured in every direction. Bracing the wood on the right side of the blade gives me a slightly angled cut. It's just a hair off square.

I do all my precision cuts on my big SawStop (SS) table saw. I never get an off square cut on the SS. But the SS is a huge heavy precision machine augmented by well made jigs.

I wish my Kapex was more accurate, but I realize the components are castings and not machined to exacting tolerances. And, I probably could not afford the machine if they were so machined.

Bottom line, it's great for what I ask it to do.
