Actually there is a whole series of tricks of the retail trade constantly being refined and smell is a big one..

I hear ya. Bank accounts smell? I'll have to go check, now where does that bank account reside now,,, under the bed? the mattress!,, hmmm underneath a rock, musty no no it's rather hard to locate...

Maybe not cologne but I'd definitely spray it on my older tools to freshen them up a bit.

That wonderful "new car" smell is the off gassing of chemicals curing...just a thought [wink]

Can't help you with the power cables, but I can get you smelling like leeching craftsman or pb swiss handles real easy.  [big grin]

I love the smell of new festools and would happily buy a cologne if they made one. During the 08 recession I picked up a next to new domino that still had the new smell for just over $500. Such a good memory!

The strongest (best!) Festool smell is the Vac SYS kit, don't know what they use for the hoses, but its strong, sort of reminds me of 1980's Tipex , the nice sniffy one lol
