New Festool Tool Alert | Be lazy & get fat with Festool's new cooler

Love my Festools but....

I actually thought this was a joke when I saw it.  $95 for a Systainer made into a cooler?  Really?  Somewhere in Germany the family that owns Festool is having a good laugh on the way to the bank.  Honestly, this is the kind of stuff that makes non-Festool users into instant naysayers.

I'll stick to my Igloo coolers that I can throw around, wash out with a garden hose, and not worry about.

Be punctual here guys.  Qty's are super duper mega limited.  Get in line asap.  Like I said, if you aren't lucky enough to get one, we wont be charging your card unless it ships and only when it ships.

Am I to assume mine has shipped due to my card already being charged?

Same here!  What's up Sean? Peter?

Not making friends if you are charging cards three weeks before shipping if the coolers are not available until 15 June....especially considering you stated you wouldn't.

Please respond to those of us whose cards you have charged!!

Id bet our buddies at Atlas will have'em.  Shawn posts here on the forum.

Thanks Sean, I am sure we will have these, Most of us up North are still building our igloos even though June is almost here, and here we see cooltainers.  Atlas will be on board, it gets hot in Toronto! They are ordered, not on our website yet though.

Thanks
Shawn @ Atlas

One of you has reached out with some valid concerns regarding CC's being "authorized."  A quick rundown...

Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Authorization_hold

When you place an order this day in age on the web an authorization, or essentially a reservation, is put on hold for those funds.  Your card is never ever charged, or the funds captured by the merchant, until the product ships.  It's actually a PCI standard as far as I know and will likely one day be law.  As far as we're concerned we will never ever charge your card until a product ships.  The market wont stand for it and neither will we as shoppers in our own personal experience when we are the buyer.  I will never let a company charge my card before a product ships, neither should you.

Does this include paypal too or is there a different policy for that?

Paypal actually captures funds whe you pay with paypal.  I'm unsure why this is their policy.  Just reached out to my contact to see if this has been updated.  As of a month ago it wasn't.

Not always - seems to depend on how the seller/site is set up.  For example, I have a purchase in progress where three of the four items were backordered (though the site did not reflect this at the time of the order... grr...) and they had authorized through PayPal, but by the time the first backordered item was available to ship, the authorization had expired, so I had to log into PayPal to reauthorize them to obtain the funds.

Other places (WoodPeckers for example) will charge PayPal right away when you order through PayPal.

Not sure what all the rules are surrounding all of this, but given how quickly the authorizations seem to expire, and the fact that the buyer/payer needs to manually log in and authorize after that happens, may be why some sellers won't go that route?

On an unrelated note to this thread......any customers that have already placed their orders can breath easy - you're all covered guys. We still have some more inbound so if you're on the fence we should be able to supply ya. Thanks again all.

I got my cooltainer today. I was not super excited to see a "festool products.com"sticker on the lid of my limited edition cooler. Why would you put a sticker on it, come on.

Those peel right off with no damage or residue, at least mine have on the Systainers I have received from ToolNut

They should not of been installed in the first place. I guess I have a thing for stickers on stuff. Usually when I get stuff with stickers they come right off and the 30 min goo gone experience.

I got mine today.  It looks great latched up to the limited edition Systainer I received from a dear forum friend who visited from the UK.  They are now in my sacred stacks.

But no matter how rare, there is one more rare.  Only one, and Brice owns it.  He, heh.

Mine showed up today!! supper cool need to figure out how much beer it can hold... Guinness in cans sounds good like a good test subject.. Hopefully there is no sticker on the beer.

Got my cooler thanks guys. Just thought i would update though. I have only ordered 2 items from you guys including this one. I have del from UPS and FedEx almost every day and never have tampered packages but the 2 i got from you guys were both opened so im wondering if at some point on the del someone is going through your packages. This is how the box was when i got it.

Now all we need is for GERMAN Festool to contract with a GERMAN beer brewery to create a "Festool Black Beer".  PLEASE!! [tongue]

In the meantime, Yuengling Black and Tan will do just fine in there! [big grin]

Cheers,

Frank

Geez, what happend to that box. Only way that someone during the transport was opening the box.

All my ToolNut packages are very well packed on the inside and taped up properly on the outside.
