Is the new Midi Canadian Approved?  Sure would have been nice to traded the Old Midi with the New one.

what was the old suction rating...I thought it was similar.  Is it the taper hose that increases the suction?

What does the hole pattern look like on the bottom of these new pads?  Also, are there plans to add/replace the pads for the Rotex 150?

Thanks!

The CFM of the CT itself has not changed. But the suction at the end of the hose should be improved due to the tapered design. I don't have any hard numbers at this time but I can see if I can find some.

Scot, it's the same Multi-Jetstream hole pattern as before. Compatible with JetStream and Multi-Jetstream abrasives. No plans to offer the updated pads for the RO 150 FEQ at this time.

The new pad was designed, as I recall, for automotive applications. I wouldn't necessarily run out and get one, but if you need to replace your pad, snag one of these.

Just curious, what would be the purpose of increasing suction on the D27 hose?  If anything, most sanding applications call for reducing suction from max.  I guess it would be useful for general shop vac use, but the D27 hose is not really suited for that.

That hose can be used with nearly all of our tools. For instance, routing and sawing operations would benefit.

Edit: Since our friends in Europe have had the updated CT MINI/MIDI with tapered hose for a while now, I wonder if any of them could comment on it...

It's not out that long yet. I sincerely doubt a lot of people have it already. Probably just a few. I have not seen the new Mini yet in a store, every place I went last month still had old stock.

The original CT Mini came with a tapered hose.
It's more flexible at the business end which makes it easier to use with smaller sanders.

The tapered hose does not increase suction, in fact it will reduce air flow volume.
Comparing a tapered hose and a non-tapered hose, the air moving into the tapered hose
might will be at a higher velocity but the determinate of air flow is really the air passage in the tool itself.

I have a tapered hose, I think it is the older one. It tapers to D22 at the tool end. Maybe the new one only tapers to D27?
