Look like a CT 36 in my future?

I wonder what the CFM and other tech specifications are. I can't find them.

Come on Forrest this is right up your alley!

Found in french Festool site : http://www.festool.fr/images/France/Telechargements/Brochures_nouveautes/Nouveautes_printemps_2009.pdf
A new line of dust collectors is coming up soon in Spring...

And other stuffs :  SHINEX rotary polisher, new accesories for DOMINO...

Welcome to the Festool Owners Group and congratulations on finding that very interesting brochure! There are a lot of interesting things in it, and I am sure that it will promote much discussion amongst our members!

In addition to the new range of dust extractors, the following are of particular interest to me:

4mmx20mm Domino tenons and matching 4mm bit

New range of 5 sizes of Centrotec Forstner bits

New transparent replacement guiderail splinter strip

Systainer 2 with small parts organiser in lid

The Systainer mentioned above was on the www.tanos.de website I was co-incidentally looking at a few hours ago. I do hope that the lid of the organiser doesn't crack, and that the hinges and catches don't break, which is what happens to so many organisers for sale these days.

Well done cocodou!

Forrest

I would like an entirely clear guide rail!

A transparent replacement guide rail splinter strip may be cool, I will have to give that a try. It seems I may be able to line that up to a pencil line much simpler.

Thank you Forrest, but I just realised my post is in the wrong thread.
Could be better to move this discussion in "general / Festool tools & Accessories'

Sorry for this.

Sorry to disappoint, but I can't find the specs at the moment. Will keep a look-out for them though!

Regarding the photo of the new vacuum machine, what is the third green knob for, the one located in the upper left?  There appear to be several preset positions marked around its circumference.  The Speed control knob appears in the lower left, and I think the Auto On/Off/Manual On knob appears to be in the upper right.

In looking through the entire brochure, I noticed for the Domino there appears to be a new, more precise fence to complement the new 4mm Dominos and 4mm cutter bit.

For the TS 55 saw, note that ALL of the new blades are listed to have a kerf width of 2.2 mm and have different Item numbers compared to their USA counterparts.  Is this a response to Tenyru having done so after FestoolUSA earlier stated it could not be done without loss of quality?

Note the new "felt" pads for application of waxes and oils.

The third knob may  adjust how long the vac runs after the tool is shut off in the AUTO mode.  I'm just guessing, been running the text through a translator.

In Europe, the CT22 comes in CTL22 and CTM22 varieties. The CTL is approved for working with dust category L, whilst the CTM is approved for finer dust category M. The two machines are practically identical, but one difference is that the CTM22 has a rotary dial for the built-in airflow monitoring system (FlowDetect). See the following comparison photos:

CTM_Airflow_Monitor.jpg

This additional rotary dial is used to set the hose diameter so that the FlowDetect system can work out when the airspeed goes below 20 metres per second (at which point it will sound a warning).

I think it likely that the photo in the brochure shows the CTM variant of the CT26/CT36, and that the green dial at the top left is for setting the hose diameter like you were able to do on the CTM22. In fact, if you look at the photo on page 4, the white lettering at the 5 o'clock position around the top left dial appears to say "50", which corresponds nicely to the setting for the 50mm hose. I think that the 12 o'clock position says "27", and the 2 o'clock position says "36", also corresponding to the smaller sizes of dust extraction hose.

So that flow detect tells you when the bag is full? I want that option!

This all sounds very interesting but unfortunately the pdf seems to have been taken down.

Did anyone manage to get a copy of this and can post it here for those that haven't seen it yet?

:) Would you still like it if that option costs you a 238 euro extra?

I am in the US and highly doubt if offered it would increase the price that much. If it did they would not sell. So no, I doubt I would pay that much extra. I have a feeling that option may be in the next iteration and the price will be the same or just a tad more. I think Festool and even Fein are at the top pricing tier that anyone in the US would consider paying. I think a CT 33 is 538.00 or something like that now.

I can not see going much higher myself, once the price hits 600.00 I just do not think they would sell enough of them here in the US, especially right now.

I think I have that PDF if I find it I will post it.

By total co-incidence, I was looking for the same brochure this afternoon, and noticed it had disappeared too. Maybe Festool France jumped the gun on the announcement of all the new goodies?!

The nearest I got was the Google cached HTML version of the brochure, which has the text (arranged more or less correctly), but no photos. At least it gives the order numbers of the various items that are mentioned.

Some of the new rails already have the transparent strip. While at the Toronto Woodshow last weekend we used new rails with the saws and the strips were very easy to use.

Of course, lighting is important and if you are trying to find your mark with no light they won't be effective

Well, I am not making these 238 euros up, that's really what this extra feature costs here in Europe. I've been given to understand there's no real difference between the CTL22 and the CTM22 except for the flow detect feature.

From Bob Marino's site I can see the difference in the US between a CT22 E and a CT33 E is $505 to $580 = $75.

Here in Holland and the rest of Europe the difference between a CTL22 E SG and a CTL33 E SG is  ?546 to  ?677 =  ?131, which is already a big difference.

The difference between a CTL 22 E SG and a CTM 22 E SG is ?546 to ?784 =  ?238, and
the difference between a CTL 33 E SG and a CTM 33 E SG is ?677 to ?927 =  ?250.

Edit: Hmm, this board doesn't seem to know the euro sign.   ::)

Now that's quite a pricing difference for only a flow detect system installed. And yet the CTM models are sold relatively well, albeit not close to the numbers of the CTL models. I myself am looking around for a Festool vac and check out the Dutch equivalent of eBay regularly, and I see people bidding like crazy on the CTM models. And I doubt us Europeans have that much more money to spend than Americans. What might also influence the positive sales of the CTM is that I think it's going to be (or all already is) mandatory for companies to have the CTM rated machines because of health regulations.

You can check the prices on the vacs here in Europe from the Dutch Festool site, but they're universal for all Euro countries for as far as I know.

I am quite curious to see that pdf of the new vacs too, if you have it, I have the CTL 22 on my wish list but I am very curious now to see what the specs of the new CT 26 are going to be.

Oh I am not disputing your prices in any way at all I am sure they are correct.
