I would love to hear how you get on with this. . . and parts numbers too.

Cheers.

Impact survey? That sounds like they are at least working on one - good to hear. Hope it will see the light of day.

On a side note I ordered the new belt clips for my two "old" T18 drills, it is possible to fit the older T18 with the new clip. :) It was actually cheap too, two parts needed. They should arrive next week. I really look forward to it as I am constantly being reminded of the lack of a quality belt clip while running up ladders or climbing about.

Once you get the new hooks any way you can see if they fit the pdc 18/4.  The hooks on the PDC are horrible.

I will report back with parts number when I get them, for sure! The order was done over the phone by the sales rep as they did not have the ekat/part no in the computer yet. The Festool rep had the price and knew exactly what we were asking for so I am fairly confident they will ship the right parts.

Tyler: will see if it fits, I just realized I have a DRC that needs the clip as well. Hopefully it is a workable solution for the PDC/DRC.

I don't own an impact as i don't really like them, they're loud and slow. But every now and again it would be nice to have one... Like putting in big fixings at full stretch on top of a ladder.

If festool released a No bells & whistles impact as small and good as the modern makitas i would def pick one up to have around.
Id be happy with a makita, but for such occasional use im not willing to add another battery platform.

"Slow" Try the new milwaukee fuel, I often set it to speed 2 otherwise its almost too fast for me.

Tyler, Neeleman and everyone else interested in belt clips for the T18; received the BAD news today over the phone.  [mad]

The new clips for the T18 and C18 _cannot_ be retrofitted to the older C18/T18. The belt clip _only_ fits the newer models.
This is rather poor service from Festool to give the OK over the phone to the sales rep who asked _specifically_ for the _new_ belt clip for the _new_ T18 and asking if it was compatible with the _older_ model, and was given a "yes, two parts required".

So, what showed up at the shop? The _old_ spare clip for the _batteries_... Sigh.

I thought it to good to be true, turns out it was not true. Apologies from the sales rep but he was not to blame. I stood by him as he phoned Festool Sweden and he was specific enough to avoid any confusion on what we were asking for.

So, I am quite sure it does not fit the PDC/DRC either.  [unsure]

Sorry for keeping hopes up!

Some battery news:

On the interior lid of the "new" T18 there is a 3,1Ah and slim looking Airstream battery depicted, and a cutout in the insert for it.

It looks slimmer than the 2,6Ah battery.

Not sure the new slimline battery looks any slimmer than the old one. But the capacity jump is always appreciated. Although having 2 'old' T18s the lack of belt clip makes them a bit redundant for me.

I'm curious about the Right-angle chuck in that picture, looks different in color to what we've seen before... I wonder if they have updated it, namely added a body magnet to the hex bit slot! That must be the most infuriating thing about it! When i put a little hex driver bit directly into the angle chuck it falls out super easy all the time. The newer cxs & PDC angle chucks do not have this issue.

You are right, it is not slimmer, more likely to be the same size. It was the lack of a belt clip that got me. ;)

Since I have two fresh 2,6Ah batteries I am not in the market for the 3,1Ah just yet.
I am removing the clips on the 2,6Ah batt's though.

Hopefully the new angle chuck has a good magnet. I also wish that they update the locking bit chuck.

So, thinking out loud, if the 2.6Ah has swelled to 3.1Ah, maybe the 5.2Ah will grow to 6.2Ah soon?

You'd think being a dealer I'd know, but I don't.  [embarassed]
