Hello all, just wanted to introduce myself.

Been in the trades for about 25 years now. I run a Renovation Company here in Vermont, USA. We also do a lot of Historic preservation work as well.

I'm pretty new to these tools and they just amaze me how well thought out everything is. I know I'll be learning the finer points of all the benefits to these tools from this forum.

So far in the last few weeks I have bought the TS55 with the long rail and accessory kit, CT33 with extra hose, and the Domino with upgrade kit.

See you around the forum guys. :)

Wow, very nice! A Cabinet Maker down the road from me has a few Japanese block plains, very old though.

I only have a couple planes... this will be my first wooden plane, so will see how it works... wasn't much money compared to LN planes.  I was thinking about making one of my own... not sure when though...

Welcome, Jason!!

Wayne, after you've "driven" your new wooden plane across a few boards, teach us how you did it.  I only have a couple of cheapo planes because all the good, old Stanleys my father had and the many wooden planes my grandfather made (even the irons) were stolen before I got into woodworking.

Welcome Jason. My Dad lives over in Rochester. How's the weather?

:D That's crazy! I'm sure she'd know who he is/ vice versa. He used to be the town dentist.

It's about 80 here today. We bought some chickens.

Dave,

I have played with the new plane a bit... and I used it to put a nice chanfer around the table top on the tv stand I'm building.  It worked nice on the chanfer.  However  i've been out of the shop the past few weeks since.  I may have to get together with someone that knows planes and get some hands on advice and direction.  I'm not sure if its where it should be or not.
