New here, but old hand at Festool

18 years a journeyman Red Seal cabinetmaker here. I currently work as a service tech at a high end, high brow cabinet company.

I've had my Festool gear for over ten years. I recently sold my TS75, and had to retire my TS55, so I got the TS60, which I am enjoying. I still run my OG CT26, OF1440 EQ, RO 125 FEQ, DF500, T 18+3. I had to retire my CXS 12 kit as its almost 12 years old, so I replaced that with the CXS 18 just yesterday. I think I'll pop the old kit onto FB marketplace. Today I placed my order for the KSC 60 miter saw.

I have been so impressed with every tool I buy from Festool. I have no regrets. My boss raises her eyebrow at the total cost of tools I bring into the work van, but heck, accuracy and precision are worth having as a starting point.

My question is, if I get the Festool UG Underframe UG-CSC-SYS 577001, will I be able to use it as a base for the mitersaw, the KSC 60? My work van is sparse for spare room, so I am reticent to get the normal UG frame and wings. I also know that the multi use of the UG-CSC-UG will assist me in moving my Systainers about my jobsites. What say you?

I am gonna bite the bullet. Also upgrading my trusty CT26 with the Bluetooth module. I have corded Festool gear still, but I figure I can us the hose switch for those. Bonus is my TS60 tends to blow breakers a lot when plugged into my CT26 in most houses, not sure why, but I suspect the anti kickback system is always drawing a bit of power which throws AFCI breakers off and trips them.

I have many experiences which hopefully have produced some wisdom lol. My best bit of wisodm is if you do fine finishing or cabinetry, the best decision you can make is to invest in Festool. Pricey up front, but pays dividends over time. Additionally, I have had my other colored tools stolen from jobsites, but thieves don't seem to realize what Festool is... A cabinet installer friend of mine was all Milwaukee except his TS55. Guess what the thieves never bothered to touch when they broke into his truck...

Couldn't agree more, from a reliability, performance, and especially ergonomics viewpoint, I've never regretted investing in Festool gear.

I am not a professional woodworker - in fact, faaaaaaaar from it LOL - but I have also learned that even as a hobbyist, Festool is brand I can trust to help maximise my hobby time and help cover up my ineptitude and make me look sometimes better than I really am I am a "buy once, cry once" kind of person
