Hello

I just got my new Kapex.. It cuts square on 90 degrees I have cut up yo 10 inches wide and put my 1281 woodpeckers square on it and see no light. But when I cut miters at 45 either side left or right its off.  When I go to join the two pieces and put my woodpeckers square on it, it does not come out square, its off about 1/16  on  a piece about 8 inches long.
I tried the 4 cut method to see if is off and is not, I'm using the clamp to hold the wood and using a moderate feed rate.
I never had any problems like this using my dewalt slider.

Any suggestions ? before I  take it back to the dealer

Thanks

Sorry to hear about your situation.  There are adjustments that you can do but in your case if the dealer is local just return it for a new one.

Yes, the dealer is local, I will be taking it back tomorrow.
Also I just noticed that there is some kind of oil leaking  by the arbor/motor.

The Kapex is very accurate, but it does need to be tweaked to perfection some of the time. Return it to the dealer and work with him to help you attain the accuracy you desire. I had to tweak mine but I'm now very happy.

As far as the oil leaking goes, Google that on the FOG because I think that's been mentioned before.

I am having this same problem and my tool is out of warranty.  Can someone please post what adjustments I can make?  Festool Support was no help - their only solution was to send it in and I use the tool too much to not have it for what would likely be a month.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks ChuckM, that was extremely helpful.  I got my 90o and the right-hand 45o miters really accurate.  The left-hand is off by less than 1/2 a degree.  Since there is no way to adjust that with out changing the perfect right-hand 45 I'm calling it good.

Thanks again
