new kapex blade causing vibration

I installed a brand new blade on my kapex, and I now have a small vibration on start up. The blade is the same one that comes with the saw when new. I didn't have this issue with the original blade (out for sharpening)

It doesn't seem to affect the cut, but it's something that has me concerned. Has anyone else run into this problem?

Unplug the saw and check the blade to ensure that all of the teeth look uniform and aren't missing the carbide. If you feel the blade might be defective, return to your dealer and exchange it. I would recommend that you check with the dealer to make sure they have another one in stock before making the trip.

Is the vibration side to side, or up-down? That might help identify what is causing it.

Also, try cutting into (but not through) a piece, and measure the width of kerf it cuts. If that is wider than it should be, then the blade isn't flat.

And the obvious thing to check, is the blade mounted on the saw correctly, remove and inspect/clean flanges and refit

I'd remove the blade and make certain nothing has found it's way into the works ... any little bit of rubbish is enough to make the blade clamp up unevenly. A tiny wobble can be very disturbing!

I just got the "old" original blade back from the sharpeners. Installed it, and it runs like silk. Same thing as the new 80 tooth blade, also runs really smooth. I then re-installed the "new" 60 tooth- yup, it's a shaker.

I called my dealer, he says bring it in and he'll have it checked out. :)

This is the hidden benefit of Festool, good service. done and done. And an excuse to drive down to the Festool store today LOL
