I bought a new Kapex last month during the sale and absolutely love it.  I built a new station for it using the Paulk Miter station and a custom base for use in the shop.

Looks great!  I am working on building the paulk bench, hopefully will have some pics soon.  Bill

Nice one, and welcome to the FOG. Did the kapex replace another miter saw and if so, which one?

Yes Charlie the Kapex replaces my DeWalt DW 708 which I had for years.  I was never really thrilled with it, but it got the jobs done.  Over the last year, I have been slowly updating my tools to Festool.  I was on a job site a year ago and used another carpenters TS55 and fell in love with it.  Now I wish I had bought the Kapex sooner, but was happy to save a little money now.
I am truly a Festool believer

Thanks Rich. I ordered one too but being me, I waited until the 27th to make up my mind and am now doing the backorder fidget. That'll teach me to be indecisive. So is there a ct behind the doors?

CT Midi...I keep hoping I will win the free giveaway one month and get a tool that comes with a CT.  I would love to have another one.

I ordered mine at the somerset NJ show and got it the following tuesday. used it for the first time this past saturday and love it. Now I cant wait to get a house and set up a shop so that I can build a table like this. Good job. Does this just slide straight out?

Thanks.  Not sure what you mean by "slide right out"  But if you mean does the Paulk Top easily removes from the base, then yes.  Actually the top is just sitting on top of the bench.  that way I can just remove the saw and load up the worktop.  I was going to attached some how to the base but it seems to be sturdy enough just resting on it.  The base itself is on casters so I can pull it away from the wall if need be.  The Kapex does cut like a knife through butter doesn't it?

Any chance you have plans/measurements for your built?

This post is over 6 years old.  The last time rich024 was active was in 2017. I don't know that you'll get a response from him on this.
