I was buying a few things in Highland Woodworking (Atlanta, GA) yesterday and I saw a Kapex on display. It featured a sign saying "New Kapex".

I didn't have time to examine it, but it looked just like my old one which I have used for many years with zero problems.

What's new about the new Kapex?

From the Festool site:

WHAT'S NEW FOR THE UPDATED KAPEX IN 2019?

The new, improved Kapex offers the following upgrades from the previous model:

Extendable material support wings
Internal changes to the motor have been made to help increase service life
Locking dust port
Newly designed base with integrated Miterfast angle finder stowage location
New crown stops (203356) and crown support board (204536) available (sold separately)
Festool's industry-leading 3-year comprehensive warranty, including wear and tear as well as free warranty repair shipping

I ordered the new Kapex from Tool Nut in the middle of August, their web site said it would be shipped around October 1.

I am glad you mentioned seeing one on display, it is good to know they exist.  [smile]

Smoke collection system!
[big grin]  [poke]  Ha-ha, so easy, could not resist.

Ah, so is this why they had to make that upgrade kit to the cyclone, it's to capture kapex better :)
