Hey Guys. It's taken me a while to post this but I recently took a month off and Demo'd my kitchen and rebuilt it with cabinets I built using a host of Festool Products. My wife is super happy with the results and I'm looking
forward to starting my next project.

That is a good looking kitchen.  Your wife should be very happy.  Now she needs to get you more Festools.

Yeah the Fridge and stove were about the only things I chose...Thanks for the kind words, it was my first crack at cabinets and I'm happy with them

Nice job on the cabinets and the kitchen. [thumbs up]

I assume you did the tile work also?

Are the cabinets made from ply or MDF?

All the cabinet bases were made out of furniture grade maply ply and the
Face frames and doors out of 4/4 maple. The shelves are solid 2 inch black
Walnut. I did everything with the exception of the tile and counter install.
I didn't really want to learn on this one as the tile work was rather extensive.
Thanks for the kind words.

great work and lucky wife! how and what type of finish did you use on the shakers?

The shelves were not easy, basically I fabricated some shelf supports out of flat metal stock welded to
3/4 in pipe that was 8 inches long. Installed the brackets on the studs and sheet rocked over them, then lined up the shelf locations, threw them in a jig on the drill press and drilled 8 in inch holes, lined em up and used a mallet to pound them on. I actually sat on one to prove they could hold my 230 pounds. Then they tiled around the shelves....they are never coming off.

I sprayed the cabinets with 2 coats of primer followed by 2 coats of benjamin moore semi....the prep work took forever.

Prep work was worth it then [wink]
