New Limited Edition CXS Systainer with Free Bit Selection

I really think the Sys2 with the bit set should be offered as a low cost bonus buy for those loyal Festool customers that were early CXS adopters (ie - for the price of an empty Sys1) ... It's not that nice to be penalized for being first in line and it's also not clever to do this to loyal customers ... it'll ultimately create a "don't buy till the special is offered" mentality (becomes self fulfilling).

Festool's engineering, manufacturing and after sales support are brilliant. The people at Festool responsible for pricing  policy and promotions (global wholesale and retail) need to be injected with a big dose of rational common sense.

I'd expect these promotional techniques from a cheap volume car manufacturer - not a premium tool company like Festool.

Get you act together Festool and offer something to all of the people that have already registered a CXS where ever you're running this promotion, or sit back and watch all of your new product launches fail until you sweeten them with an extra bonus.

Got mine today and here are some pics of the insides:

That's pretty cool.  I leave my CXS charger out of the Systainer, in order to make room for bits and such.
I know I would buy the insert trays if they came to the US, and a Sys 2 to transfer the whole set into.

thanks Reiska, ive been checking this thread daily to see the insert. What i like a bout the CXS is the many dedicated slots for centrotec stuff. When i got the T15 i was a bit disappointed that there was just one such spot.

The special edition insert looks nice, but not really revolutionary.

That's an interesting point.  I wonder if TTS are offering the inserts as a part.  I will check tomorrow!

I would definitely say it's nice, but not overwhelmingly so. It still is a better set than the original one in my opinion [wink]

You need to take the drill out to lighten it up enough to lift it out with one hand from the only reasonable grabbing point (left, middle) or it will be a bit of a wiggle to get out. (the back corner of the top insert goes under the hinge to keep it in place when upside down or something)

Also the lid container is very shallow just 23mm deep so you can only have about 20 screws in a compartment at a time (between two dividers) - good for first aid, but for larger jobs you'll still need your sortainer.

Any update on if these inserts are able to be ordered as parts?  If so, what are the part numbers?

Sorry, forgot to update this.  Sadly the inserts for this limited edition set are not available.

:(

I checked recently another forum in different country. People there don't like Festool. But this sweet deal changed mind a little bit for some. :)

Victor.  This was the CXS setup I had at the house party at Erics the feeling among the people there and the reps was this could be a big seller, maybe out selling the original CXS offer we have here.
Maybe Festool USA will have a change of heart on this one.  [big grin]
My believe is that outside the USA, the standard for tools is reasonable proof for safety and usage for us here it more absolute proof, similar to standards for drug companies [wink]

What was the general feeling on this set for any that bought it, is it better than the original? I'm gonna pick up a newer Cxs I think as mine has the 1.3 packs and was looking at this limited edition version.

Can anyone confirm if they improved the compartment lid lock on the t locs? Lots if people said the older style would open without warning spilling the contents

I have some T-locs with lid compartments, i had to cut away part of the lid latch so it would open more easy. When new they are tight as hell.
