New Makita Dual Mode

You can hear it already - my Makita bounces! I cannot control it!  [big grin]

Competition is a good thing.  It will be hard to beat the RO150.  But you never know!
Is the motor brushless?

I handled one at the local tool store. Felt a little bit cheap compared to the bosch 1250, and of course the rotex sanders.

Of course hard to judge a power tool without putting it to use.

I don't think it's brushless. That'd be ok with me, brushes in my miter saw have last 8 years of almost daily use, same with my tablesaw. Doesn't seem to be as big of a maintenance issue as people play it out to be.

It looks a bit cheap from the photo too!  [smile]
A shame, considering the previous version does have
an acceptable quality feel to it.  But first impressions can
often be deceiving, in all fairness.

I agree, I wouldn't push the lack of replacing brushes, either.
The advantages come with less venting, a little extra oompf,
and all of the fancy new technology that seems
to be associated (electronic clutch).

The motor looks like it may be one of the same ones used on the less expensive angle grinders. The older version appeared to use the same type of motor used for the higher end Makita grinders.
