I'm new here at the forum and hoping to learn more about the brand (really all those great little tips and tricks that inevitably come with experience) and the tools.

I'm a finish trim carpenter/cabinetmaker/installer in western Massachusetts and always open to meeting other working professionals in the area!

Welcome to the Forum!!!!  I am also a professional and got into Festool about 1 1/2 ago.  Festool will make your life easier as a carpenter.  There tools are expensive but worth it!!!!  Please check out halfinchshy on youtube.  He is a fog member and has a lot of good reviews and tips.

Thanks for the lead Tyler. I'm hoping the tools can live up to the hype, but I've never heard anyone say they weren't worth it! Really looking forward to picking up a tracksaw for starters. Got to use the ts 75 once and was sold! It's not going to replace the old unisaw in my shop but it could definitely turn it into an ornament.

When working with bigger stock my ts75 works great along with my 1952 unisaw.  I use the ts75 to joint the material and use the unisaw for my rips. 

Definitely take a look at the ro sanders.  For working in homes its nice to have a sander that wont make a dust cloud.  With a ct vac its amazing the dust collection.

The other thing thats awesome with job site work is the systainer system.  It makes trips form the truck to the site faster being all the systainers lock together.  Organization is so hard working out of a truck/van and the systainer system helps out a lot!!!!

Tyler, do you have any opinions on which vacuum is the best size for site work? I was leaning towards the CT 26 but my local building supply house really recommended the midi.

I have the ct 36 and use it for site work as I also install cabinets. It can get a little heavey packing it every day but like its size. I would consider the ct 26 but for myself wouldn't go small than that if you are going to hook up to a mitersaw or tablesaw Forsure.

    Belated welcome to the forum!  [smile]

        The Midi and Mini are really handy for site work and transport. Shape and size is great for that. But if running with a router or planer they will fill really fast. Otherwise they are great with saws and sanders.

      If you are in Western Mass. you are not far from Providence. Assuming Festool runs the event again you should definitely try to go to Festool Connect at JLC.
