Hi all, don't know if this is the right spot to say hi and look forward to the forum and I am a festool addict.

There, that's better now!

Hi,

Welcome.  This is the right place. You realise that no one here is going to help cure your addiction , right? :)

Seth

What Seth said ;D. But you're among company.

I've seen you over at Ubeaut. Welcome here.

Pictures and projects, we need pictures and projects. ;D
Good to see you here Fusilier.

Regards,

Rob

How 'bout we call you "Gunny". That's what your name originally meant in French, right?

Uh, mama'd say I've chosen the wrong friends... :-\

G'day to all, I'm taking the opportunity to introduce myself as well: Goerge (na it's not George), from Germany.
Germany? Yep, right. Only 250 miles away from the black and green Factory. Hey, we've even got the cs50
cs70 and cms over here  8) !
What I'm doing here, then? Simple! Apparently Germans ain't capable of coming up with a site like this - we've got no
Festo Forum / Owners group whatever. So I do love this Forum!

Status: just about to take the slippery slope, soon-to-be-owner.

The fusil was a type of flintlock and troops allocated the fusil at the time were then named fusiliers. All very fascinating and linked with my involvement in Festools believe it or not. I am a collector and researcher of military antiques to the former regiment the Lancashire Fusiliers and needed to build cabinetry to house my collection and as such started on some wood work projects to see if I had any ability using a plan from the Australian Woodsmith Magazine which had a nice cabinet that I will photograph and show you at some point. I did the work in my father in law's shed who at the time had Triton equipment predominately which I wasn't impressed in. I had been told that Festool was the best and we went to a Festool shop and now he has the CS55 trimming saw bench set and sold the Triton.

Fusilier, Goerge,

Welcome to the forum.  We've got a good, international group here so you should fit in nicely!  However...

Please be aware of North American sensitivities.  No, it's not language or culture.  It's NAINA (Not Available In North America).  As the underprivileged, we get those lovely Festools (and other cool tools) much later than you do.  So, please be gentle.  It's considered impolite to wave a nice Kapex or CMS under out NAINA noses more than once per thread!  ;D

Have fun and look around.  I think you'll find the quality of Festool tips, tricks and general information in FOG to be first rate.

Best regards,

Dan.

Don't let the whining bother you, when they do get them it's less than half price! :o ;D

Yeah I noticed the price thing....whining did I notice it!
Dan no worries, No offence intended there! After reading through this forum I'm fixed on owning a mft - as nice as the cs,cms and kapex are, they are merely options.

It took me quite some time to get the ides of the mft, but once I did, the cs was off my shopping list in one neat blast. While the cs 70 certainly has a lot of power, it costs as much as a decent stationary saw. The cs50 is a bit too tiny....for the Kapex I don't know, I never thought about it as a wanna have, as it offers nothing I need for furniture making.
The CMS I do look upon as an upgrade of the tools you own together with a mft - nothing more. The Saw adjustments just s..k! Good thing is the router setup, alright, but hey, there's incra, woodpeck.... Don't let yourself be impressed with them NAINAs!

After all, you've got the awesome FOG, right?

Best regards, Goerge!
