Will there be sanding pads for the grinder making this the replacement for the RAS?

[member=6555]Shane[/member] Remind me please...  If I order the grinder now, when do you charge my card?
Thanks,
Trevin

[member=20971]elfick[/member], from what I can tell this has a 5/8" M14 thread, but I could be wrong. It may be possible to find a 4½" hook & loop sanding pad for it from another manufacturer. But, at least for now, Festool does not seem to have plans to offer one for the AGC 18 themselves.

[member=62034]Trevin[/member], we will only authorize your credit card when the order is placed. That just checks with your bank to confirm the availability of funds and places a reservation for those funds. It is not an actual charge and does not incur any financing fees. We will actually charge the card once the item(s) ship on 10/1. This is extremely common practice for all major ecommerce websites.

I will note that if someone uses a debit card (which I highly discourage for online purchases), funds will come out of your account immediately. Similarly, Paypal will deduct funds immediately when the order is placed.

It will be interesting to see what happens to the price of the older model Kapex on the secondary market with this new release.

[member=45856]blaszcsj[/member], well, sort of. I didn't mention it here because it's really not much of an update. The HL 850 is being changed to meet the new IEC 62841 standard which requires that the tool be fitted with a restart lock. This ensures that planer will not start up accidentally after a power failure even if the switch is pressed. So... meh... nothing exciting.  [blink]

Well, I'm glad I waited on taking the plunge on the Kapex.  Happy to see that pricing has not increased.  It's time to order one.

Thanks for the news Shane.
