new owner of the festool TSC track saw

I am new to festools and just bought the TSC track saw. I have a project coming up where I need to cut melamine which blade would you recommend. In the past I have not worked with melamine because of chipping any recommendation on a blade or tricks to cutting melamine. Thank you!! I am looking forward to getting this saw and putting it to work.

I think you want the 496309 Solid Surface/Laminate Blade for TS 55 Plunge Cut Saw - 48 Tooth

I'm sure many more experienced users will chime in shortly.

Welcome to the forum. The stock blade should give you good results. I would recommend using the green splinterguard for the off cut side of the blade as well.

The bag fills quickly on the TSC, empty every 24' of cut.

When you carry the saw, carry it from the front handle, if you carry if from the rear/trigger handle the saw tips forward and empties the bad through the saw.

The sold surface/laminate blade will hold cup better than the stick blade. Either blade may need to be sharpened when your done with the project.

You won't necessarily notice a difference between the fine blade and the laminate blade on the first cut, but the normal blade will dull fairly quickly, we're is the laminate blade will keep cutting fresh for many many cups

I found I get the best results cutting melamine in two passes. First one is just a score cut about 1/8 to a 1/4" deep. Then over cut by at least a 1/4". Even with the splinter guard I can't get chip free on the off cut side.
