THIS THREAD HAS BEEN RENAMED AND MERGED WITH ANOTHER THREAD AT MY REQUEST.  THANKS PETER!

It discusses a bit further down the Veritas MFT Clamping Kit that includes the insertable Bessey auto-adjust clamps and other components in the kit rather than the initial discussion that was solely in regards to the the Veritas planning stops.

Just thought some out there may find these useful.

I don't like metal stops on my bench when hand planing. I have the Veritas dogs and I am very wary of them since I hit one with a plane. Ouch.

I'd rather see Veritas offer bench hardware made out of maple, but it may not be cost effective (or make them myself).

Too bad they are made for 3/4" holes vs the Festool 20mm

I don't think it matters much.  I use old WorkMate stuff and Festool stuff back and forth on either and have never had a compatibility issue.  I am planning on going into LV sometime soon, and will try a pair our on the MFT on display there.  I'll report back my findings.

I've been very interested in the various dog hole jigs made by certain lately though am still yet to purchase any. Richard, I believe lv also offer dogs that you can attach a custom stop to made out of what ever you prefer. Was just thumbing over that while reading the catalogue on the toilet (it's where I do a great deal of my pondering).

Hi Again...

See other thread .... we've made these for MFT's as well, so if you're interested in 20mm posts... hold off for a bit!

Cheers -

Rob

OK - here's a "spy" shot....

Can't answer any pricing questions just yet, and those aren't the real dogs in the case (3D printouts)...

id like to see a list of its contents.
is that a forsner bit in the bottom left.
what are the 2 round yellow circles between the toggle clamps

Would be great have something that allows the clamping elements to be used on thinner (than 3/4") stock. I've though about putting a spacer under it, but not sure how that would work.

Wow that looks awesome. I'm sure this set up will be a big seller. Just my luck though, I just ordered the qwas bench/rail dog super pack, 20mm festool hinge router bit and forstner bits  ???

Same here.  But Rob did say that 20 mm will be available at a later date.

That kit looks really interesting - I would love to know the detailed parts breakdown  [wink]

I have the planing stops Kevin showed in the first post.  They fit in the MFT but its sloppy.  If not for the cross bar they would drop straight through.

I just hope what rob shows does not require purchase of a Systainer.
