New Product - Veritas® MFT Clamping Kit

awesome execution in the packaging of the kit. Love the dual layer/color foam. What would the low profile clamps be used for?

Will get some shipping quotes estimated, and post them here!

This is so tempting...Awesome kit. I am curious to know how those bessey clamps fasten, I assume the knobs go on the bottom?

I am also curious to hear how well the dogs fit.

I am from Boston afterall and the Black and Gold Bruins colors are very appropriate. Is that a good enough rationale?

In for one.  Wife saw the planter bench plans in the last catalog and requested I build them.  Little did she know the plans for that project were going to cost her $260!

ORDER PLACED!  (This will make an excellent Father's Day gift for my wife to give me!!!)

for anyone interested in the U.K./Europe, the shipping cost is around $72,quite expensive and of course there are likely to be customs charges here in the U.K.,i have just ordered the set.

Well got home from work yesterday and look what I found at my door.
This set is awesome, played around with it for a while, it will be a great addition to my MFT's for sure

Sal

Sal, I would be interested in knowing what you think of that surface clamp? Maybe see it in action if it's not a PIA for you..Thats what Festool needs to perfect, something that allows for easier clamping on the surface. That seems like a good solution.

im not sure i need the whole set but might get some parts of it. those bessey clamps look great.

is that a midi systainer. i think rob lee said it was/
what do you think of it and how does it integrate with the rest of the system

Hi -

Here are some ballpark shipping quotes:

Netherlands, UK, France, Germany:

*Surface Mail    8-12 Weeks                               $51.05
*Xpresspost      8-10 Business Days                   $83.90
*UPS Express   5-6 Days to Major Centers         $69.75

Australia:

*Surface Mail    8-12 Weeks                               $61.28
*Air Mail            2-4 Weeks                                 $92.89
*UPS Express   5-6 Days to Major Centers         $85.40

Customer service says they picked "generic" destinations for each of these... but if anyone ends up ordering, please paste the quote in the order notes field when checking out... we will charge the lesser of the quote, or actual charge to destination. Of course - the quotes are for the kit only.... any additional items would add weight, and need a requote!

Cheers -

Just ordered mine direct on the site for store pick up.  While not confirmed, it estimated pick up to be 1PM tomorrow.

In the Euro-area that would come down to €290, including shipping (the slowest), 21% VAT, 10 bucks customs handling fee, excluding possible bank costs

Or calculated back: $377  [blink]

I couldn't resist and ordered mine from Lee Valley after seeing this post
Thanks Sal and Rob for getting me into trouble with my wife.

21% VAT?  Is that what you guys pay on most goods?  Geez, i thought we had it bad in Canada paying as much as 15%. Depending which province you lived in.

Yes, in the Netherlands it was just hiked from 19% to 21%
Stuff like food, books, newspapers is 6% here.

Other countries in the EU have different rates, some have 19%, but 25% isn't uncommon either.

The EU (the most wastefull and hated layer of government here) dictates a standard minimum rate of 15% and lower rates may not be below 5%. Exceptions only when agreed upon at joining the EU.

Imports below €22 content value are tax free, over €22 content value there is the VAT over content + shipping and a handling fee (often 10 bucks (excluding VAT)).

When buying stuff from outside the EU it means that something with €20 contents and €5 shipping will cost me €25 (no taxes) and something that's €25 with €5 shipping will be €48 (€18 taxes)

Tax benefits and sane housing prices make that a lot of German border villages are now inhabited by sometimes up to 50% Dutch people. They combine certain tax benefits from Germany and The Netherlands. They have a low-taxed German car, deduct their mortgage interest from Dutch income tax, enjoy the cheap spaceous German housing while sending their kids to schools in The Netherland. All the while they enjoy the absence of vandalism and the presence of more decent-mannered people (the Germans).

While the glass in bus stops doesn't last a year in most Dutch bus stops, once you cross the border 10 km into Germany it seems 1940's glass is still surviving there.
