I just received the offer from Lee Valley to provide replacement dogs with larger diameter posts. While the originals seem to work for me, I still wonder if the larger diameters would be better in some way.  They offer either 19.81 mm or 19.9 mm to replace the original 19.7 mm ones.

Has anyone received the new larger dogs? Which ones did you get and how are they working for you?

Hmmm, how does one get the replacement dog offer? I have the kit and would like to change them out.

I received a letter in the mail yesterday from Lee Valley asking if I wanted the larger dogs and for me to call their customer service with the info provided in the letter.  They placed the order and they are coming no charge.

I also received a letter yesterday from Lee Valley. I called and did accept the larger dogs.

I would like to openly thank Rob Lee and Co for their outstanding service addressing this!  They could've just said "it is what it is", which is what I find a lot of companies responses are in my experiences. I let Linda the CS rep @ Lee Valley know how much I appreciated this and that this is how I try to model my business...whatever it takes to make a long term happy client (within reason of course)!  Kudos to you!

I also requested the larger replacement set for my MFT/3, based on the measurements and fit of my Qwas dogs and some other dogs I have.

Just got my free/replacement set of four larger (19.9mm) Veritas dogs, and they fit great in my MFT/3.  [thanks] Rob!

Just received my set of four larger diameter dogs. While I love the service and the fast response, I was even more amazed that I could sneak the original dogs, all in a row, in the open space under one of the bar dogs in the case.
Almost like Rob and Company planned it that way [eek]

Ever since the term "Service Economy" has been spoken , in most cases quality service has become a distant memory. My experience with Lee Valley gives me hope as they prove that there are still some companies around that DO believe in providing EXCELLENT quality service. I received my set promptly and the surface clamp had a cosmetic defect. I called Lee Valley and they sent me a replacement with a prepaid return shipping box! That is how it should be done! I too received a letter regarding the dogs and have opted for the larger sized ones. They told me I could keep the old ones. In a world where "Service Economy" has come to be mostly lip service companies like Lee Valley and Festool really try to provide meaning to that term. To me that is what a service economy should be about. Quality service whether it is in a food establishment, tool store, mechanical repair shop or whatever should be a top priority in our "Service Economy". I agree with prior posts that many companies should look at Lee Valley and Festool for inspiration on how to live up to better standards for service and make that term "Service Economy" one that our countrymen in the USA and all over the world can be proud of! Kudos to Lee Valley!!!

Another good example, got my letter, called Lee Valley USA and two days later I had my new dogs. All free and smooth.

Just a heads up, it seems a small batch of these shipped out without the post or dog under the bessey clamps.  So check yours and if it's missing give them a call and they will get them out to you!

When I ordered around July 7th or so, I put something in the notes indicating I wanted the larger dogs.  I got a response back indicating all the kits shipping out had the larger dogs at that point.  So it doesn't hurt to put something in the comments for the order, but even if you don't, I think you'll only get the larger dogs.

Thanks, I thought it might be this way, but I'm glad to see it is for sure. I'll take your advice and put something in the comments section too.

I ordered mine at the end of May and they were the smaller diameter dogs. Both 19.75mm exactly.

Very happy with them so far.

I think their excellent customer service makes them money in the end.  I buy from Lee Valley without hesitation, knowing that if there is a problem with the product, or even if I just don't like it, they will
make it right.  With many other companies I wait to see a review or some forum chatter on the product before committing, and often forget all about it.
