New Ride

Congratulations on your new ride.  You got the only FWD van on the market in NA.  Looks like you will need that.

I have accomplished nothing on the interior of my van and it is driving me nuts.  If I showed picts of the interior I would be banned, but it would illustrate that my Festools are not babied and can handle the rigors of transportation buried under hundreds of pounds of stuff  [eek].

Nice seeing snow.  Weather here is bizarre.  Warm - I had to turn on the AC in the house and wet.  The puddles in the yard have puddles.

Perhaps next weekend I can get the last wall panel done and then start the racking in ernest.  But I can say that after putting 3800 miles on the van I am glad that I escaped from the pickup.

Merry Christmas my friend!

Peter

A 3 litre turbo diesel seems to be the norm here in work trucks and vans run with smaller engines again.

Ya, the terrain is a big thing in the States, we typically reserve the 3 litre turbo diesels for our golf carts...anything larger, gets the appropriate boost in engine capacity. [poke]

I went into the city today and yes, the fwd did very well in the snow and ice. I've only had 4 wheel drive vehicles for the last 15 years and am surprised how well the Promaster handled.

Merry Christmas to you as well Peter!

Peter, very nice ride.  Before you buy a rear camera you might what to look into this rear window mount backup mirror.  I've got one on my van and I can see the full width of my van seven feet out the back.  It is less useful at night but it can still help you from backing into the parked car behind you.  It will also fit SUV's and mini vans.  For $20 it's hard to go wrong.

Thanks for that link, that little mirror looks darned useful for running trailers with the SUV.  Might have to make a little adapter to mount it on the frame of the window rather than the window, though, as the Sequoia has a power rear window.
